Have followed you since I was pregnant with my Jax! He’s about to be 6 months now lol. Just wanted to let you know something I just realized the other day! I still had my pack and play on the higher up level like you do, then I looked at the manual and my baby was over the weight limit! I had to put the mat at the bottom of the pack and play so it would be safe! That was before he was even 5 months. So just wanted to let you know your little one might be over that weight limit by now! (Not trying to be an annoying know it all- lol, it just looked like your pack and play mat was still up at the top & wanted to let you know for safety!) ♥️♥️

If you do end up prepping your own purrees/mashed baby food, silicon ice cube trays are a godsend. Perfect size for a single serving and easy to manage, cook up enough for a tray, freeze it, once they have frozen you can pop them out and store them for months in labelled snap lock bags in the freezer. Take out what you need for a few days the night before so they can defrost. I prep once a month.

You're not alone! My son is about 10 days or so younger than Jackson and he is the same with his naps and every night is different. BLW is fairly new in North America so it can sound scary but it's actually great! If done right there's no choking hazard and little to no gagging (since gagging is a natural way of learning just not too much). It teaches them healthy eating habits, develops their fine motor skills and a bunch of other things! I think I'd recommend starting with avocado since it's a part of your daily diet too, just make sure to leave part of the skin on for them to grip the food easily

@LEXI GRAVES It is hard at times because I feel overwhelmed. At the same time I'm so glad I had her because its changed me to be a better person and to be responsible. I dont recommend being a teen mom because I times I wish I could just go out without having to worry about her. Or watch 18 hours of youtube a day and that's it. Motherhood is the most amazing feeling in the world and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I’m exactly the same with keeping a smaller size still in my little boys wardrobe! I just want him to get as much wear out of it as he can (as he still fits in most of it, although abit snug!)... he will be 6 months after the weekend and also going to start baby led weaning, so will be looking out for your videos!! I’d definately reccommend making your own homemade purées, atleast that way you know what’s in it and much cheaper! I done this with my first child and all you have to do is a big batch and then portion it out into freezer cubes or lidded pots and freeze them, and stake out what you need and defrost in fridge overnight or defrost in microwave. Obviously if you’re now going onto baby led weaning, you may be leaning more away from purées now... my 6 month old is in 3-6 month clothes, and still fit in a few of his 0-3 month clothes! Size 3 nappies (as they say between 11-20lb in weight) and he weighs just over 16lb now... I think he’s on track with everything, but with the pandemic they’re not doing any 6 month check ups here in the UK 🇬🇧 he also rolled from his back to his tummy the other week, but not as strong as Jackson is on his tummy. Jackson is so strong! Also in regards to breastfeeding, it’s so much more convienient than having to wash and sterilise and mix formula up, so if it’s going well why combi feed? It’ll definately make your life so much easier, and us mums definately need that! My little boy is exclusively breast fed and I love the bond and that it’s no hastle having bottles to make up (like I did with my first child as struggle first time round), so many health benefits for you too the longer you breastfeed 👍 🤱

My son was the same as Jackson in terms of overnight sleep. He'd sometimes have a longer stretch but would otherwise wake every 2 hours and I'd nurse him back to sleep. Once he was established on solids, I weaned him off the night feeds and he started sleeping through. Hopefully you will see a big improvement when you do the sleep training xx

Hi! i've been a big fan of your videos for awhile, you could try the zipideezip its a transitional sleep sack that doesn't restrict movement much... they can safely flip over and back in it... because they are able to use their arms and still push up... my son started wearing it when he was 5months and he still sleeps in a zipideezip now at 19months. I hope jacksons sleep improves :)

I am a first time mom, and I am breastfeeding as well. My son will nurse around 7 or 8 at night and will wake up around 3 or 4 to eat again. That’s a long stretch, but my milk supply hasn’t changed. I nurse him as I always would during the day and that keeps my milk supply up. I hope this helps if you didn’t want to stop nursing!! 💙

We recently pumped and gave her a bottle with a little organic rice cereal before bed instead of breastfeeding and it as been a game changer. She can sleep from 9pm - 5am, she use to get up every 2 hrs to be breast feed.

I’m nursing my son morning and night as well , with formula throughout the day. As well as purée food 3 times a day ! Oatmeal cereal in the morning, 1 fruit purée and 1 veggie purée.. finally someone that is somewhat on the same page as me. My son just turned 6 months today. Naps are the same! As soon as I put him down, sometimes it takes about 20-30 mins until he wakes up. And won’t sleep through the night .. sometimes yes, but for the most part no.

I have found feeding 3 times a day was what got us to a full night of sleep. And protein helps, we were told at six months he could have jarred meat or pureed meat (we puree). We do mostly purees, some baby led weaning, he's not loving the food that way, but he will do some self feeding with the Olababy spoon--i put the food on there and he takes it and puts it in his mouth. Just some ideas, I just found three meals of solids was what we needed to get a full night's sleep.

I think the reason he wakes up so frequently is bc he’s in your room and smells the milk. Try in his own room and i don’t think ur milk supply will drop either. I fed both mine till almost 2 and they have been in their own room from 4 months on

What a cutie!! FYI, you don’t have to switch to formula if you don’t want to - almost all breastfeeding parents who have an established milk supply will make whatever amount their baby needs even when solids are introduced and it is flexible - for example, some nursing moms go back to work and only nurse once a day during the week, and then all day on weekends. Any amount of formula you give, your body will make that amount less of milk. Our bodies are so cool if we trust them!

Any day now Jackson will get the concept of forward movement down and then you are in big trouble. LOL. Look at those he-man arms and legs. He'll be visiting neighboring counties, if you don't watch him carefully. His weight and length sound just fine. He needs to get to the point in the next 3 months or so of sleeping full sleep cycles for the sake of his own development. He will not be eating alone for BLW, so he is not going to choke if you give him small pieces he can hold, see, smell, and chomp into. Remember the gag reflex and tongue thrusts are not related to choking or to not liking the food. Tongue thrusts are like when they do that as infants to show they are hungry, but he will now be playing with the food in his mouth trying to figure out what to do with it. Remember he never ate before, so they use their tongues where the strong muscle is and the taste buds to figure out what's going on and what they are now to do with this stuff. The gag reflex for a baby is more forward in the mouth and so it is used more frequently when they are investigating foods in their mouths because they check out the amount and texture and flavor. Choking is different from that and quite clear when it's occurring. There is no mistaking it. If they do not like the food or have had enough they will spit it (not dribble it out, like when there's too much) a good distance in disdain or he will shut his mouth tight or he will get extremely distracted by something and try to ignore you and the spoon or fork or pieces on his highchair tray. As much as possible, try to keep meals family eating together time and not full of entertainments because the day is coming fast when you will be desperate to have family meals where you all interact and then are ready for whatever the next obligation is: school, work, church, sports, scouts. It is not good to rush meals, but it is a bad idea to drag them out with TV, visitors, phone calls, whatever interrupts a healthy half hour to hour of family time. But you need them to eat and then be done with the meal because their lives will become way busier than yours and you are their chauffeur and social secretary who will be criticized for not keeping them punctual and disrupting other people's activities. I can see he is learning about gravity. They drop everything for ages to be sure it still drops. LOL
