No matter who wins in November, spending our way to a solution would be a disaster. If Trump's last administration was really able to influence monetary policy, then we need to understand if it had a balanced, healthy impact on the housing market at those low interest rates or if it, over time, became a powder keg waiting to blow and 2020 lit the fuse (radical temporary monetary policy, stimulus checks, explosion of remote work, etc.). Home building was very expensive in 2020 b/c of material supply problems and there would have been a housing shortage no matter what, but it seems that more homes should have been built in prior years. Quantitative easing may have helped people to pay things off, but it's fake growth and you can't do that for too long. Thanks for the video. Got me thinking.

Great points. When you mention deregulating and banks possibly targeting borrowers that have a lower ability to repay the debt, that sounds like the Student Loan situation our country is in (just a thought). Additionally, the deregulation of tax cuts wouldn't be good for individual investors and that would not be good. Tariffs may do exactly what you mentioned but as history shows, the government finds ways to give big business free money or tax breaks to set up new plants and manufacturing here in the U.S, which is good, but most Americans don't realize the money for these companies are coming from our tax dollars (Sorry I Digress). Agree we don't need anything increasing house building pricing. Also agree, we have a massive housing shortage…. And the president will not change this…. Great content!

Lower interest rate is guaranteed to drive the price of houses up, in my opinion

Here’s my opinion. If Trump doesn’t win, kiss our economy goodbye 😘 Trump was a fantastic president, no wars, economic conditions were great! Let’s get that back!!

Inflation is a root problem NOT interest rates. We need Deflation. Relators do not like to hear this because their cuts of a home sale are not flat fees, but percentages of the sales price. Think about it... Higher prices benefit... relators, loan originators, govt prop taxes, insurers (can charge more), and everyone whose slice of the sale proceeds is based upon price including the Buyer's realtor! Who is paying for all this? The buyer especially if they have a longer loan term.. 30 yrs, 35 yrs, 40 yrs, etc. Gvt causes most inflation... how so.... gvt produces nothing.... gvt emps regulate which drives prices up... Argentina went from ballistic inflation to zero inflation... how... they cut gvt emp and size and expenses of gvt. Gvt debt is costing us > 1T annually. End of story.

I'm planning to buy in this environment and would like to see lower home prices, but significant deflation would put some newer buyers underwater; would freeze salaries and wages, at best; have no positive impact on existing loan balances; require higher interest rates than at present; and keep golden handcuffs securely in place, keeping inventory low. I think price stabilization and having household income "catch up" is the best we're gonna get. Sticky situation we're in.
