Impressive DIY!
I usually recommend aluminum with saltwater. Works very good as well. Alas, one should not use an aluminum container for the mixtures that make use of aluminum. It is a chemical reaction that takes place here which will work rather agressively on the aluminum, so an aluminum container will be damaged and eventually get destroyed. To speed things up, one could also use most of the mixtures with a cheap ultrasonic cleaning device.

Thankyou for these great tips! If I have a chain that has been put unto liver of sulphate, and I don't like the look of it, can I do these methods and it will remove the black from the entire chain?
