Good deal, now take those allens out and drill divits into the shaft for the allen set screws to sit in, like we do on gas blocks on guns, then some high temp locktite and she will never move.

I did this a while back and had written a thing up on the FB forum, i used both upper and lower steering shafts from borgeson for a 2016 then slipped the firewall seal over it. You can also get a factory ford upper/lower shafts cause its cheaper, i guess i could've done what you did but i didn't have a saw at the time haha, nice vid!

Noah, you happen to have part number for those shafts I can try and look up? Anyone else see that you can also find just the ujoint piece from the borgeson shafts in the video, anyone find it and know the correct part number for it? I sent an ebayer a message asking and will let you guys know what i find out when i do, it may be a while though since im only looking for future use not an immediate repair.

I called Borgeson and you can order just the u-joint. It's $127. The part number is 034956 and is not listed on their website. You will have to speak to them to order

@Lightning SVT interesting info, thanks. Next question, anyone know the bolt info (length, thread pattern/size) I'm thinking I may try and get bolts from the local hardware store instead of paying 30.00 per bolt from Ford on ebay if I can help it.

@@AceBoy2099 I just paid I believe $17 per bolt. It was $70 for the pitman arm nut and three bolts. The Ford dealer was located in Missouri. The dealer name started with a B.

Never heard of one coming without power steering but I’d assume you’d need much more to add power steering. So I’m not exactly sure

Great video thanks! Anyone know the thread info for the bolts? These are such a rip from the dealers. Did the dropped pitman arm fit no issues? What about joint only from Borgeson vs purchasing entire shaft?

Idk the thread but just look that part number up online and get it there. The dealer charges an insane price for the same bolt. And yeah the pitman fit fine no issues. As far as the borgeson shaft is Idk if you can just get the joint I’ve only seen the whole shaft part

I’ve heard many mixed reviews about them and didn’t want to chance it not being worth the money and I knew this would improve the steering simply based on the size of the 6.7 steering box vs the stock one

Hey I got a question and I hope you see this soon. I cannot get the 6.7 gear box in. It’s insanely heavy and it won’t go in place. I don’t know why. Did you have this issue?

No I didn’t have any issues, it fit in fine for mine. You unbolted the sway bar to make more room right?

Question for you so a few days ago I had my mechanic put in the gearbox on a 2016 into my 2007 the only problem now is when turning lert or right the steering wheel is sticking. I used a used gearbox for a 2014 as well as new steering shaft and Union from borgeson. Any ideas or possibly bad gearbox?

I’m not really sure I’d have your mechanic look at it. Could be multiple things like the gearbox or other parts hitting

Check for binding in the ball joints or possibly bad front axle u joints. Something else to consider

@isaiahcampos3230 I will definitely have it looked into but don't you think that would have been a problem that was existent prior to the replacement of the gear box? This sticking didn't occur until after the replacement of the gear box and shaft.

@@Maurice05 it’s very possible that the gear box is bad. I was just stating to double check other components while you’re there just in case it might be coincidental that they could’ve went bad right after

@ethanwyatt6396 Thanks. I'm about to do this upgrade. My confusion is, do I use mercon V because that is what I'm supposed to use or do I use mercon LV because that is what the 2016 steering box uses. Any problems with your truck steering after doing this?

@@trentcarbino921 I have some slop which I’m hoping I can fix by tightening the adjuster screw on the actual pump. Everything else down there is new too and I have a much bigger upgraded drag link so I don’t think it’s from any of that
