3-shot groups have become much more common over the last couple years. They can be very useful and informative. They're great for identifying the loads that are NOT going to work.

When it comes to seating depth 2 shots is enough to say move along. Given the cost and rarity of components it might be in your interest to buy a press that can go to the range with you. First to shots are 1" apart, just move along. If you find a depth that stacks shots you'll have extra rounds on hand that you can set to that depth and jump right to a 5 shot group.

Yeee....it was hard to witness the waste of perfectly good quality primers, bullets and bench time for this session. Not to mention time & energy to load them. Man! Thank you for unfiltered results though. Appreciate the honesty & humility.

I also had decent groups at first with Hornaday factory loads (match ammo) then groups opened up checked action screws and rear one loose pulled action out of stock and found the paint over bedding areas and unevenness in channel noticed the action and the stock where different radius used a deep well inmpact socket the same radius as the action and sanded the stock down about 3/16s to match the action using 80 grit sand paper and glass bedded the stock to the action Big improvement

I'm a huge believer in 3 shot groups... I shoot 3 shot groups until I'm ready to verify something then I'll shoot a 5 or even a 10 shot group. You can cover way more ground with finer adjustments in between groups with 3 shot groups. Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!

My PRC is really picky on projectiles and it also hates Magpro! This video was pretty much where my rifle was with it and I couldnt get it to improve with seating depth changes.

Great just bought 500 142 SMK But all guns are different and I am finding out the 6.5 prc is very picky on what works and what does not it really likes Hornaday 140 bthp match and h-4831

You should try 140 Nosler Partitions with MagPro if you plan on hunting with it. My rifle shoots 3/8" with 60gr in Hornady brass and federal primers.

The MagPro can go to 61 grains safely. You may get a better group shooting a faster velocity. I have been working on a load with it and am a bit disappointed but seeing I have an unverified scope that is new I may have to switch it out temporarily. I think the MagPro is worth another try. It should go to 100% case capacity without a problem.

Hey , I have that same rifle , pull your action screws and sand off the overspray on the bedding blocks and action screw holes. Mine is in 6.5 cm , shot incredibly well when I first got it , cleaned and oiled the barrel, had a bit get down around the barrel to bedding blocks and loosed up the paint on the bedding blocks . Shooting went to shit , thought my scope was junk , ready to trade the rifle. Lightly sanded the bedding blocks and used alcohol to clean up paint , back to 3 shots 1 ragged hole . Might just b the loads ,but worth looking at the blocks . Good luck , I also put a triggertech diamond in my Bergara, worth every penny, love my bergara .Good luck .👍🏼🇺🇸

I'll take a look, because these groups are out of character for this rifle. Thanks for the advise.

Clean all the paint off so it’s metal to metal contact , torque the action screws back to spec , that’s what I had to do to get my groups back . I reloaded some of these 142 ‘s for my creedmoor , 3 shots at .36 “ . 41.5 grains h4350 and was just a rough start on picking a load because it’s what I load my Hornady 140 ‘s at , hope you get your Bergara back to good, these groups are not normal for these guns . I shot bad groups with poor quality factory ammo that were better ,but this is what it looked like with my reloads until I did some research and figured it out , I feel your frustration. Even if it is just the load you’re still going to want to clean up the blocks , because it will eventually effect your groups , I was 250-300 rounds when I noticed it. Good luck , hope to see your next video with tiny groups.👍🏼

I think it's a little fast for this combo. Too much excess case capacity.

@@RobsReloading For your top charge of 59 grains of Magpro, QL says 96.73% burned and predicted 2925 fps at 70° F for this combination. Case fill was 93.9% (I used water case volume 69.9 grains) and pressure 51,638 PSI. A full case would be 62.8 grains and predicted pressure is near max at 63,575 and predicted velocity 3234 fps. That is sure a far cry from Sierra's data!
