5th Gen 4Runner Drawer System-Fridge, Stove, Running Water, Spice Rack

My homemade drawer system in my 2022 Toyota 4Runner. Whether we’re car camping, overlanding, whatever you want to call it, these drawers have been very nice to have on all of our trips! It’s very easy to setup and put away. It’s also super convenient having access to a flat surface without needing to dig a table out of the car. Below I will link parts we used to make them. Thanks for watching! Happy camping!

I’ve always said “drawers are stupid” then I watched your video. If I go that route I plan to emulate your concept. Great video. Great fabrications.

It really depends on how you use your vehicle but the drawers were super helpful. I’m glad I made them because we used them all the time.

@@kateandjosh nice setup! What is the ‘strap system’ that tilts the fridge down?

Thank you! Haha I know, they’re expensive. Check out the company called The Adventure Index for drawer plans. They’re pretty similar to what I built.

Nice setup! What tilting fridge slide did you use? I’m looking to do a single drawer with the fridge on top that tilts down and out.

Awesome video! I was curious what the overall height of your system is or the drawer dimensions? I have plans to build one of my own but I feel like it’s too short to have it setup like yours.. the kitchen drawer looks perfect.

Hey thank you! The height is just 10inches tall, overall the dimensions are 37.5x10x41.5 - L x H x W

Hey! Nice setup! I'm building the same one here in Kazakhstan. Can you give me a hint about the slides? What are they? Accuride? Update: I'm an idiot. Josh put everything under the video. Thanks man!

Thank you! I apologize for the late reply! Yeah I forgot what brand they were, they’re from Amazon and the link should be in the description like you said. If you look at the community posts from our channel, I attached a cost sheet of how much everything was. It was right about $700 for everything I used.

Hi there! Could you tell me how you keep the rear from sagging due to the weight? I'm a newer 4runner owner and want to build my own drawer setup but I assume this will make the rear sag a bit? Look forward to hearing from you!

Hey, I have heavy duty springs in the rear as part of my Dobinsons lift kit. If you don’t have or want a lift and want a cheaper option to keep the rear of the vehicle from sagging, I’d look into getting some type of airbags for the rear of your 4Runner. Look up the Firestone Coil-Rite Airbags. I hope this helps!

hello what made you choose the jackery 500 vs dual battery setup? How long does the jackery keep the fridge running?

  • @kateandjosh

I like the option of taking it in and out and being able to use it in other cars/setups. The dual battery setup is just more involved and more permanent than what I was looking for. If I could go back I would buy a Jackery 1000. I can get about two days out of it. I actually made a video about this: kzread.info/dash/bejne/io2by5iFf7WnoLA.html

The fridge drawer sliders are 28 inches, rated for 500lbs and only lock on one side, the upper kitchen drawer slides are 36 inches, rated for 500lbs, the lower kitchen slides are also 36 but only rated for 180lbs.
