Very helpful video. I think I'm turning into a 74 year old groupie! I sit and watch your videos on my TV while eating/relaxing. Later on, I go to Notion on my desktop computer next to your video playing on my laptop computer attached to a 22-inch screen, so i can follow as you "tute". I confess that I set the playback speed on the video to .75. i Guess my ears don't hear fast anymore. : ) Your teaching skills are 5/5 stars.

Not to detract from your awesomeness in any way, but in one of your tutorials (this one?) you mentioned using custom font styles by a copy and paste method, which looked like it was pretty much copying an image of the text. I want looking, but what to my eyes did appear was a tutorial by Made by Maisie called "Explaining Notion Techniques: KaTeX (custom colors, font size, center text)... Much like your colored divider, she shows text in a bunch of sizes, colored text, colored boxes with borders,... using KaTeX. She was going pretty fast with a music background, and I'm watching on my TV from far away, so I i don't know much of the details, yet... BUT, just in case you didn't know about this (and I'd be surprised if you don't), I thought I'd mention it. Great tutorial topic! Again, not to rain on your exemplary videos. 😊 ---Tana-Lee PS: Er... You're in the UK. Rain is nothing new. So change that to "Not to pop any balloons" or "Not to be a party pooper" or... 😊

Hi, I have a db where every day I record an event. In the database I have two columns: [Current Datatime] and [Last Datatime]. Then I have a column [Elapsed Hours] where NOTION automatically calculates how many hours have passed between the two events (dateBetween). Each time I have to write down the [Current Datatime] of the row and report it in the [Last Datatime] of the new row, in a manual way, with risk of getting it wrong. Is it possible to automate via Template or Button the [Last Datatime] column so that automatically NOTION retrieves the [Current Datatime] value of the last detection and copies it into the [Current Datatime] of the new row?

Tipping back at ya: You don't need to swipe a word/paragraph to select: To select a WORD, just double-click it To select a PARAGRAPH just triple-click it To change the font style (bold/italic/underline) while typing: CTRL-B makes the text bold CTRL-B --- no spaces needed CTRL-I makes the text italicized CTRL-I --- no spaces needed CTRL-U makes the text underlined CTRL-U --- no spaces needed

The issue with using links instead of the real things (ie, icons, emojis, GIFs) is that the website might move, die, or even just change their pages, leaving us with broken links (aka no icons, emojis, or GIFs). This would be exceptionally bad if the links were used on templates made for others to use. 😢

  • @creative_cove

Yes totally agree, it's one of the downsides. It's probably better to download it yourself and upload it as a custom icon 😊

I lost on the 22:21... that's not sync block. that just calling a database from another page. sync block are blocks with Red margin in them. they are useful on making uniform blocks along 1000000 pages. example are buttons inside a product list, or simply universal navigation or sitemap. you can't change those for all 1000000 pages but if you use sync block. you only need to change the original block and everything sync.

  • @heyassim

Right! It's not a synced block but rather a Linked Database view.
