    That's pretty awesome! Thanks, I followed through to the end. Life Zones/Areas is also one puzzle that was missing in my Notion setup. One thing I'm still confused with is, in your second brain dashboard you have 1) Projects and 2) Goals. And under both of them you have tasks/steps. How do you differ between projects and goals? For example, under Projects, you have "Complete Duolingo Spanish course" and under Goals you have "Get to B2 in Spanish". What (kinds of) tasks do you put under which one? I'm on the edge to getting your second brain setup on your store and I hope your response to my comment will help me make the decision. Thanks again and keep up the good work!

    I’m glad you enjoyed the video! In the template, I’ve included tons of written guides as well as approximately 1 hours worth of private videos that explain how the template works in detail. Goals should be long-term objectives that you want to achieve. The deadline may be months or even years away. Projects are shorter-term efforts that have a shorter deadline and usually they feed into a larger goal. Using the example you picked up on, I have a long-term goal of getting to B2 level in Spanish so to achieve that goal, I came up with some short-term projects I could do to help me achieve that goal including taking the Duolingo course. If you want to break the project down even further, you can add tasks to the to-do list and connect them to specific projects. Hope this helps!

    Thanks for the help! I did have to use a "round( )" function to get it to show the rounded up result, though. It was outputing a long number, such as 18,57896%, which was not ideal for what I wanted. I don't know why it came out like that. I managed to get it to round up to 20%, which is not super accurate, but is more than good enough for what I wanted.

  • @creative_cove
    @creative_cove9 күн бұрын

    You're so welcome! For the 1 day, you can include another if statement in the formula. So it would say if(daysBetween == 1, (daysBetween + " day to go").style("green", "green_background"), Make sure you add it into the formula before the daysBetween > 0 line to make sure this one gets priority.

    CC, Thank you for another great tutorial, as others have said you have a gifted way of passing on knowledge in a straight forward way. I have learnt a lot from a lot of your work. This Notes template I have put to use in my ever growing Notion system and Notes now sits in 2nd place under my Journal page on my home page. I have now passed your channel on to my Sister who is keen to adopt Notion. Also with this Notes page, I can now give up using "Simple Notes" app as I can now take a note quicker than I used to in SN and not have to copy/paste it over to Notion

    🙋🏻‍♀️Request how to make gamification templates please... I'm just starting to learn about fundamental programming & Notion formula. But I don't know how to connect databases (task database, habit database, area/life catgories database, item shop database, financial tracker database, book/ tracker database, badge & achievements database etc) to user profiles/character so we can earn xp/coins that we deserved & level up our rank. & not just level up, I want to be able to substract my exp, coin, HP, & MP if late doing task, skip habits, or doing someting bad. I don't know how to do the customization like the amount of exp & gold that we get from a task, it should be depend to difficulty (super easy, easy, medium, hard, superhard), Time Spent (5 min, 30 min, 1 hour, 8 hours, 24 hours, or more) & The Impact of this task to our goal (🔑🔑🔑), & the customization of the name if want to change it from "exp" or "coin/gold" to "point", "good karma", "stardusts" etc). Moreover I don't know how to do the setting If we reach level 10 we level up to rank D from Rank E automatically. However I would still love to be able to keep up with the data and see where I need to improve throughout the months/year.

    This was really valuable! I was wondering, when you want to repeat a project like “make a KZread video” do you usually write out all the tasks again, or do you have a method you can suggest for streamlining repeat projects and task lists like this?

  • @creative_cove
    @creative_cove21 күн бұрын

    Buttons are great for this! You can create a button, call it something like 'Add New KZread Video' and set the button to add all the tasks to the database. This would allow you to add all the tasks with just one click.

    @@creative_cove thank you so much! I’m sorry to bother you more, but I can’t figure out if I’ve optimized it to the best it can be. If I want to keep the progress bar system shown in this video, am I right in thinking you have to press the button to create the new task list in the task manager and then manually create a new project for it and link them using the relations function again each time? This is the only way I can see it will work. I tried just adding the list to make it repopulate when pressing the button, and I linked it to a page in the project database called “create KZread video” but it kept a running total of all of the previous tasks and the percentages were wrong.

    Thanks for this tutorial. What do you recommend when using templates created by different people? For example, if I want to merge a finance tracker into a Life OS / Second Brain template (that does not have one), how would you go about it? It may have linked views, relation properties, rollups, formulas, etc.

  • @creative_cove
    @creative_cove21 күн бұрын

    This will depend a lot on the exact features but I'd probably start by adding the finance tracker to the menu in the Second Brain (if it has one) and from there, if you need to connect the finance tracker up to any other databases in the Second Brain, you can add relation properties to do so.

    @@creative_cove Thank you. I have experimented with duplicating a template inside my workspace, but the issue with that is I am using different templates (or systems) and they are not integrated in one. Replicating one system into another became too messy so I've been using both systems separately, which isn't ideal. I am interested in many templates, but they're standalone templates and not integrated with my main one. Looking to learn how to integrate any template into my main OS.
