Ok let's talk about the tutorial ASM Techbase first tutorial of 2021! After a good break over Christmas I am back with more. I decided to start this year with one of the famous Architectural buildings designed by Zaha Hadid. The building is 520 West 28th Street - New York City.
Many of my KZread subscribers have been asking if I could model one of her designs in a tutorial. As Archicad is not a nurb / mesh model Software, this is not as easy as I would like it to be. Many of Zaha Hadid's design details do not model up in Archicad as smooth as I believe they should. 520 West 28th street has some really cool details and some of these you can model in Archicad, if you know how :)

How can I apply this to a circular building rather than a flat one? I'm working on my graduation project, but I couldn't apply what was in the video to my circular building.I will be very happy if you help me. Thanks in advance

A round building is a lot harder to model the same way. You can try to still use the handrail option explained as a handrail does curve. Otherwise, your best option is to use the morph and shell tool. It really depends on the design you are after.

You could always make 2 beams, one bending 90° up and another bending 90° down, with 2 different profiles instead of turning it into a morph. A little more work, but will let you edit the profile later on. 👍

Great idea I like it. It is always good if model without using too many morphs. They can make the model slow and as you mentioned they are not as easy to change.

@emilmeijer3336 hello. How is this done? How is curvature given to the beams? I am currently working on a circular building project. I couldn't apply the one in the video because it only works on straight walls. If you know can you explain?

How have you set your Archicad 24 interface to look like that of 18 or 19. I'd like to achieve that...

I kept updating my own working environment. If you do this you just have to be careful as with every new AC release there will be new features, therefore new icons or a new option in a pulldown menu. These if useful for me I add to my old working environment and save it out as the latest one. Have a look at this YT tutorial about the working environment I made. In the description of the video is a link to my working environment if you interested. It is an older one up to AC 22 but you can adjust it as shown in the tutorial. kzread.info/dash/bejne/mIOl2qSBlabSdZM.html

That is an easy one :) - Open the curtain wall tool - Click on panels - Choose CW Composite Panel 24 There you can see number of skins, add as many as you want, each with their own thickness.
