    Thank you so much Anita for this video! I am in love with your talent, your art!! Your Dutch pours are the most consistently beautiful pieces of art that I’ve ever seen! I watch a lot of videos, but yours are, by far, the best! I’m very intimidated by this art form, but you’ve inspired me to do a Dutch pour on the top of my bedroom dresser! I’m going to chalk paint the rest of it, & I can’t wait to try this! This video was wonderful in teaching the consistency of the paint, which I understand is the most important thing! Thank you Anita, I am using Australian floetrol which is expensive and need to use it sparingly. I have been told that using PVA glue 60% and 30% water and 10% floetrol mixed will 20 grams of tube paint and 30grams of medium (glue/water/floetrol)...I wish I could afford to follow your method but the cost of products here are ridiculously over priced.. You made it so easy to follow and hopefully if I attempt to mix my paints using your method but with my medium mix...

  • @LoveYourArt

    @LoveYourArt

    7 ай бұрын

    Good Morning Donna! Thank you for watching and for asking the question and great suggestion for future videos! When mixing Amsterdam paints, in most cases, I find my ratio works fine. When mixing Golden Fluid paints I usually add more paint and less Floetrol with little or no water added. These paints are very fluid and must be considered individually when used in color palettes with paints that are less fluid! I will consider doing a video about this! Thanks again!❤️❤️❤️

    @LoveYourArt

    Hi Janine! Thanks for watching! Yes, both the base coat and the layering colors are the same consistency. If you make them the same, you will not have the problem of any one paint disappearing into another. Be sure to add water only as needed. If a paint is too thin or too watery it will disappear. Another creator said that ii should run off the stick? That it shouldn't make a mound or trace. For a Dutch Pour,. That it should go straight into paint, no mound. Is that wrong?

  • @LoveYourArt

    @LoveYourArt

    2 ай бұрын

    Hi Brenda, thanks for watching and asking a great question! Every artist finds a method and or formula that works for them. I can’t say that a mound or no mound is right or wrong. I can say, look at their results and determine what works best for you. I have great results with a small mound My results speak for my experience as shared in this video and the Dutch Pours I have provided on this channel. Some artists provide formulas for using so much Floetrol, paint and water. I find a one size fits all formula does not work for me. That’s because not all paints have the exact same pigmentation. Some paints need water and some don’t require any water to get to the desired consistency. I hope this makes sense and is helpful! Thanks so much!❤️❤️❤️

It's called the InStyler Mini Tourmaline Ceramic Travel Hair Dryer purchased from Amazon for about $30.00 Unfortunately, it's no longer available available on Amazon. I'd say find a travel size 1200 watt hair dryer with a wide nozzle. FYI...If you are getting mud, check your color pallette selection. Putting too many dark colors together without putting lighter colors in between will create mud. It doesn't matter what kind of hairdryer you used. Hope this helps❤❤❤

    How long can you store this once all mixed together?

    Hi Donna! Thanks for the question. I can only speak to my experience. It depends on the quality of paint, additives, (ie Floetrol, silicone, glue, amount of water used, etc.) and storage method. I have used my formula 2 parts Floetrol, 1 part paint and water as needed. I have had some paints stored in bottles since 2019 that are still good. They only require shaking or adding a little water. Since, I paint alot, most of my paints have been used and replenished multiple times. The storage bottles are a huge help! Hope this answers your question! Thanks for watching! ♥️♥️♥️

    Hi Eleanor, Yes, the base is mixed the same way as the layering colors. It is critical that they ALL have the same consistency! Wishing you much success! ♥️♥️♥️

    Eleanor, congratulations on your Dutch Pour! Can you be more specific when you say composition, what do you mean? Are you speaking about colors, designs, amount of paint used, etc.

    On the 3 to 1 that's in ounces

    Lisa, thank you for watching and for asking questions! I use grams vs ounces when measuring. So if I use 2 parts Floetrol to 1 part paint it is in grans. I use grams when measuring to mix my paints. For example: 120 grams Floetrol to 60 grams paint. Add water as needed to get to the desired consistency. My base paint and layering colors are the same consistency. I don’t use a formula because not all acrylic paints are created equal. Some like Masters Touch brand are more fluid than others and they don’t require the sameamount of water. I stopped using Artist Flow Acrylic when they changed the formula to Soft Body. It has an adverse effect on the paints which I don’t like. Yes, my paints when mixed have a slight mound and then it disappears. I hope I got all your questions answered, but if not send whatever I missed to me again! Thanks so much! ❤️❤️❤️
