Roxy Well Platinum was way better than Diamond/Pearl but also loved those games. It’s just the region, Pokémon, characters like Cynthia and the atmosphere there which brings me back to Gen 4 every once in a while. Platinum is my favorite Pokémon game of all time even though I got a few ones I really love like HGSS, BW2, Emerald, MD1 and MD2 Explorers of Sky

I don't care much about Cynthia but I will admit she bopped me twice before I took her out but Flynt took me out because I did not expect his weird team. Sinnoh did give me my favorite elite four in Flynt and a top 10 Pokemon for me in Spiritomb. I'm a fan of Gen 5 and 2 more than any other gen. I'll probably like gen 4 more if gamefreak ever makes that God damn remake

It's funny you should bring up the Aspear berry because just recently when I went to challenge Crasher Wake I put one on my Gyarados to avoid a single freezing move he had at a 10% chance to freeze, and sure enough that one Pokemons one ice move with a 10% chance to freeze did in fact freeze and so I was pretty glad I put on a Aspear berry.

Actually, #14 is still somewhat useful because critical hits also ignored attack and special buffs for the attacking Pokémon, and defense and special debuffs for the receiving Pokémon. So if you use something like Leer against an opposing Pokémon and get a critical hit, the attack will ignore the defense drop of Leer and behave as if no stats changed. This means crits can deal less damage than a normal hit in gen 1, so using Focus Energy would be useful with setup moves.

Archeops' defeatist ability is the reason it went extinct, it just gave up every time it faced a difficulty And lord nebby isn't useless

Actually, Stunfisk’s Limber ability may be useful if your opponent uses a move that changes your typing, like soak. Then they attempt to use something like thunder wave or an electric type move that has a chance of paralysis

The real useless thing is giving ur Pokemon focus sash but ur Pokemon has sturdy .

He forgot that shedinja can learn...final gambit..so for those who don't know final gambit does damage depending on the amount of HP a Pokémon has but faints the user, if shedinja were to use final gambit it would likely result in 1% of damage and just end shedinja immediately

I think Magikarp trainers are intended for EV training(Speed). Good video though. :)

In competitive, memento is actually a good move. After you use the move? you can set up with your next Pokemon and as a Z Move it fully recovers the HP of the next Pokemon you switch in.

You cant actually evolve Haunter through NPC trade, that’s why they made it held Everstone: to prevent confusion. I know that because I once modified the game so that Haunter would not be holding Everstone, it still did not evolve

Memento actually has some competitive viability. It basically gives your switch in a good chance to set up. Dugtrio in particular was a good user of it before Arena Trap was banned. Using arena trap, it would kill it's target. Then use Memento to cripple the opponent's switch-in, which allowed Dugtrio's switch-in to set up for a potential sweep. Granted, the move is super-situational. But definitely viable in the correct circumstances.

Imagine using a move that kills yourself after lowering the opponents stats. *This post was made by the dragon dance sweeper gang*

2:06 Balancing purposes. Archeops has very high Attack, Sp At and Speed. It also comes with Acrobatics, a 110 stab attack when not using items. This was also from a time when Pokemon stats weren't that crazy distributed. The lore behind the ability is that Archeops is a very bad flyer, being based on the first "proto-birds". It literally needs everything he has to stay afloat, which is represented in his X/Y sprite by how he struggles to stay airborne. If he's anything but in top shape, he simply can't make it. Other than that, birds have hollow bones, and can't take hits too well.

Also my problem is with literally every unbalanced thing in pokemon . I mean i could write an essay about how unbalanced pokemon is .

@@M4x_P0w3r now do you think that it is fair that in literally the same gen(gen 5) they gave blaziken an op ability that covered blazi's biggest flaw (speed ) and they also gave arche an bad ability that do not benefit you which also hinder arche's biggest strength(offenses)

1:50 I used it to defeat Cynthia's milotic because I didn't have a pokemon that could've taken a hit from ice beam without fainting except my floatzle, so I used full restores and kept letting it get attacked until the milotic ran out of pp for all of it's moves, then I switched in with Luxray to faint it.

Exactly! They've helped me a lot in hoenn playthroughs, especially against Glacia in the elite four.

Just played through gen 4, and the first thing I noticed was a kid that got given a magikarp as his first pokemon from his dad, which means: 1: we both noticed 1 specific trainer, which means we have a pretty keen eye. 2: how bad is this dad thou, out of ten how bad is he?
