Unfortunate doesn’t begin to describe my series, this game rewards blind luck and nothing else, I am beyond convinced at this point.

People focus on the word 'ghost' too much. Ghost types are just spiritual entities. Like how rock types are often mineral based life. SOME ghost types are dead spirits reincarnated or finding a new form, but that seems more like a case by case rather than 100% represented in a species. Even Spiritomb has been shown now thanks to legends to not even confirmed to be true 'spirits', since thyplosion just makes them too.

Just cuz it's a ghost type it doesn't need to be dead, like as it came *back* to life, but gained the ghost type, which makes sense if you think of it like zombies. Some are held in a more spiritual form, and some are straight up dead like the ghost girls 💀

The Gimmighoul one, to me, doesn’t feels like they’ve been planning it’s existence for over 20 years, but it feels like one of the best references we’ve seen in the pokemon universe

Saying they’ve been planning it is definitely a stretch. I wouldn’t even say it’s a reference, just a coincidence. Mr Pokémon’s a scientist, so it’s not unlikely that he’d have a lot of books (just like how most regions have a library that have no relation to Paldea). The coin collection isn’t strange either, coin collectors do exist and aren’t uncommon. Whether it’s collectors various coins from around the world, historic artefacts (eg Roman coins), or just interesting pieces, they aren’t all that strange. The computer is harder to explain, but still isn’t a reference. The game was released in 1999, computers back then were much bigger than modern ones, it can just be chalked up to a big computer he uses to store a lot of data from his research. No offence to Dobbs or GF, but this is far off the mark. He’s looking too far into this and is giving GF too much credit here. It’s fun to speculate, but this is just pulling straws to fill time.

Could probably have a looooot of fun by just leaving a Gimmighoul in the Game Corner and watch it curse Team Rocket out of existence along with half the patrons of their fine, completely legal, establishment.

The diglett one doesnt surpise me. Its one of the simplest designed pokemon.... and it sort of looks like a... well its something that teen boys draw a lot of... so i can see it being the first.

You know. I was half-expecting Thundurus-I to be the top 1 pokemon who changed the game forever because prankster thunder wave and swagger sets are the very reason why paralysis and confusion hits got nerfed

The existence of foreign countries and foreign coins isn't foreshadowing of Gimmighoul or Paldea. It was just implying that their world is, you know, _a world_ and in fact was closely based on ours (Brazil, America, and India used our real world names for them in old Pokedex entries and character bios).

For years now Ghost type Pokémon have been divided between those with ghostly aspects and ghostly natures. Like, Decidueye clearly isn't a spirit. On the other hand I wouldn't expect to see the ghost of a deceased Haunter. Remember though that non-Pokemon ghosts absolutely appear in the games and anime but only some Ghost type Pokémon are like those. It's kinda like how not all dragons are Dragon type and not all bugs are Bug type. Types make more sense if you think of them like an affinity for flavors of natural energy

Also there are clearly human ghosts in the games. I don't quite remember where they are but one is in X and Y when you enter the second floor of a specific building

Ghost-type pokemon don’t have to be dead, having close connection to spirits and death gives them same abilities as ghosts.

Was expecting Thundy I to be on the list since it’s ridiculous success in Gen 6 VGC single-handedly caused the nerfs to Paralysis, Confusion, and Prankster(idk why that was attributed to Cress in the video since it’s not an Ekectric or Dark type)

I mean people have been saying that snorunt evolves by dying for ages. And I've heard the same said about skeledirge. It's pretty clear that ghost pokémon =/= literal ghosts, but good luck convincing people that, it seems the public won't listen.

That protect joke in beginning reminded me theme battles and I hate that I thought of that cause it reminded me of how much I miss them😅

I’m sure SV was planned from Gen 1. Proof: Red is watching “Stand by Me”, which is about a group of four friends going down the railroad (a linear track) to find a body. The ending of SV has the player and their friends descend into Area Zero, forced to take a linear path, to find the Professor, who is ultimately dead.

I think ghost type Pokémon can be split of in two categories we have ghost types and then we have those who have ghost abilities. (That’s just what I think ok so don’t start a war in the reply’s)

Smeargle is to blame for Darkrai's nerf. Every Smeargle in the VGCs would have Dark Void which puts both opponents to sleep. Starting in Gen 7, Dark Void not only had its accuracy dropped to 50%, but Smeargle was no longer able to use it, so most Darkrai sets will have the 60% accurate Hypnosis instead

I actually accidentally figured out that fire types Pokemon could be burned by tri attack. I wasn't sure why... until this video. I was doing a regular Gold randomizer and I noticed that tri attack kept burning wild magmars while grinding. I adore your content! Keep up the amazing work. Have a great day!!!

It's not that hard to understand ghost types. Imagine a demon, a being who wasn't born, but has the abilities of a ghost. There are other entities who aren't born or who don't have a physical body to to speak of, that I couldn't given as example, but I'm thinking demons are the most known ones

There's a reason the genie Hoopa is a Ghost type. Fairies kinda blur the lines on what Ghost type means, but both of them kinda blend with aspects of Dark and Psychic too. Dark also blurs with Fighting and Normal, where it's extremely minor points that distinguish any of those three on a move by move and creature by creature basis.

just like not all Dragon-type are actual dragons (Exeggutor is a tree, Altaria is a bird, Kingdra and Dragalge is a seahorse and so on), not all Ghost-type are actual undeads. Some Ghost-type could be Ghost-type just for abilities, powers or something else. Alolan Marowak is alive, but is Ghost-type because his bone is haunted by the ghost of his mother or another parent. Oricorio Sensu is Ghost-type because with his dance can summon ghosts, Decidueye is Ghost-type because can cast curses with his feathers-arrows, Frillish line is Ghost-type because feed on life energy like a ton of Ghosts, and so on. Mimikyu is similar. There is nothing that suggest Mimikyu is an actual ghost, but just a creature with abilities that match the type, since his ispiration came from eldritch monsters, who are so horrifing that if you look at them you go mad or die, support Mimikyu isn't a ghost at all, so make sense to exist the ghost of a Mimikyu, because Mimikyu isn't an actual ghost in the first place.

Legend has it they're still using protect to this day.

As much as I would love for Gimmighoul to be foreshadowed, those Gen 2 references are just coincidences. Mr.Pokemon was an American and the coins are a reference to the different currencies. Also, since Unova games came out after these ones, the Pokemon on his screen is most likely reffering to a gen 5 mon (most likely Zoroark IMO). Lastly for the books, it actually has that same dialogue for all the bookcases in the remakes when interacted with, so not much there sadly
