You are a clay hypnotist where you have complete control over your subject. I, however, am controlled by my clay, it does whatever it wants to do and controls me. You are a master, thank you so much for the tutorial.

Hello from Germany. Fantastic video as usual! Your video enhancements add so much- two angles at once are so helpful. I’m just beginning to work with porcelain after several years with stoneware and it’s a completely different experience, I’ve slowed down my movements quite a bit and use the slip instead of water per your advice and this has helped a lot. Many thanks

I have what might be a silly question, but when you are measuring the thickness of the base (when drilling/opening the clay) does it matter about the needle hole? Does the needle hole remain? Or does it end up being "filled in" with clay a you are throwing? Or is measuring it something you only do on practice pieces that you will not end up firing/glazing/using? Thanks so much!

The hole will be filling with clay. I always tell my beginner students to do so.

@@hsinchuen Awesome! Thank you so much, I will try this tomorrow in my throwing class, I am prone to go too thin on the bottom of my pots so this will be a big help :D Also, happy Lunar New Year! I hope you have a safe and healthy year of the Tiger :)
