    Good advice from Eddie. I've always had the spotter pass me the weight whenever I've done my top set. However I tried that when doing 140kg/308lb and it was a bit too much of a shock and I ended up spraining my chest. Lifting the weight off yourself helps you to mentally prepare for the weight.

    I think this is the only sports where direct competitors hang out with each other and help each other out on a regular basis. They just want to see everyone succeed and all the top guys are the least selfish competitors I've ever seen. I'm thinking about ordering one of your shirts in a Large even though I currently wear a medium, but you guys are motivating me to start putting on the pounds!

    Eddie, to me, is one of the best strongman ever. Just due to his size disadvantage. Beating guys like Shaw and Hafthor who can naturally support 400+ frames while you actually risk your life to be that heavy in order to compete is very impressive to me.

    He's always gonna be strong. Just cause he is focusing on overall health and not trying to be huge and juiced out of his mind like he was to break world records doesn't mean he's gonna get weak. If someone can just casually rep 5 plates on bench and 4 on incline then they are still pretty Damn strong

    For the average lifter that I am, the amazing thing has never really been the 500 or 600lb bench press max these monsters can do, but the absolute ease with which they rep 315 or 405. Press through it like it is nothing.

    They are naturally gifted, no doubt about it. But being an average lifter, you don't eat 10-12 thousand calories a day and take a regiment of PED's. That is really going to make a difference in the mindset of an average lifters like us out there. They've got the intestinal fortitude and courage to go for it... that is great!

    @@jonlanier_ I don't take in near that amount of calories and just started lifting weights at age 51. I am almost 57 years old now and bench 585. I can bench 500 for 7 reps on a good day. I have never done steroids either. I guess my point is that there are other people out there that are not famous that can do these things also, even in their mid 50s none the less. Genetics plays a big part. Funny because when I post stuff like what I bench I get people telling me to be humble but when they do it they are GODS!. LOL!!!

    Yes but think about lb for lb what shaw is lifting. He weighs 440 lb for Christ sake. 405 lb (Which is only 92% of his body weight) for 6-8 reps is not that impressive. That's like praising a 245 lb guy for benching 2 plates lol.
