I loved network southeast, so many signs still exist

Excellent vid! I actually hated the "hoovers" when they were first transferred to the western region because they ousted the "westerns" which were much more pleasing to the eye. I've grown to like them over the years though.. i gues anything is more interesting than an "adelante" DMU!! either that or I'm getting old :0(

Yes you are right there ... although to a spotty 15 year old , seeing the first production HST (253 001) fly under me at the footbridge at West Ealing was quite something. After more had entered service and I'd seen the last double headed Western special.. It all got a bit "samey"

I have to say it wasn't the Hoover alone that killed the Wizzo it was the BR board and the HST that finished them off Vacs were coming west either way.
