That would make it easier to make a battery pack for the drill Bosh no longer makes a battery pack for. Two packs into one workable. Could not find the item to see cost.

Hello Steve, I'm retired from an auto manufacturing facility in the US. I worked in the Body Weld division for 25 years. We used spot welders for almost the entire vehicle. Usually the weld tips are opposing each other with the material to be welded between them. I'm wondering what result you could get if you did the same? (The resistance would be concentrated between the tips causing a hot spot forming a weld)

Hi Tim, Thanks, I think this one is for making up battery packs. I have seen the ones you would have used in the auto trade. I think they are a lot more powerful as well. Regards Steve

Is that all it does? Can you spot weld other metals together? How thick do they need to be?

Hi, not really. It's specifically for battery pack building. It delvers a very short duration current pulse and has nothing like the capability of a conventional car body type spot welder.

please make sure your hands are NOT in contact with the exposed metal on the handle/rods, if you slip. it WILL kill you.

KZread is full of videos on how to build a spot-welder for batteries. This makes them all obsolete. Why faff around with dangerous voltages when you can get this so cheaply?

Maybe because I have no interest in making one. I would rather do other interesting things than waste time in making one. This one does the job, so it's fine. I don't want to faff about making one, when I don't need to. Regards Steve

This unit is the worst quality ever. To confirm hat i said look inside the spot welder.
