Hey man, I'm happy to see this video is still up. I remember watching this before I ever bought a bike and wanting to do a trip like yours. Your video insñired me to go from Massachusetts to California and back. Getting lost many times along with being caught in blizzards, rain storms and losing three phones. The experience was worth it and I cherish the memories. I am a father now and don't have the free time I used to. I hope that when my son is old enough he'll be my companion. For a guy who has ridden over 45 years and hundreds of thousands of miles on dozens of bikes I just want to say this is one of the best "flow" videos I have ever seen. The music is SUPERB with the transitions of perfect to mud to falling to a breakdown ...just fills in every gap of the possible.

62 años no eres un viejito, a no ser si tienes un problema de salud? No hace falta una klr 650 para hacer un viaje, lo puedes hacer con una moto de baja cilindrada 150cc la economía es lo principal cuando te vas con lo justo y necesario, saludos desde Lourdes Francia.

Time and time again for nearly a decade I come back to this video. Because you nailed it, you did what nobody else (me included) could do at the time to capture perfectly the feeling of what it is to do what we do. The music choice in time with the ever changing scenery, that feeling of mystery and discovery never knowing what's coming next, always moving what it is to be truly alive on two wheels.

These videos probably barely do this trip justice, am I right? What a life-changing journey!

I have a hard time fitting 2 hours of MTB footage into a 3 minute video, I can only imagine fitting 500 days worth in 10 minutes! There had to be many tough cuts made.

I like your editing and soundtrack. Thumbs up up up I am planning to go to China in 2015. From Muscat, Oman via UAE, Iran, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam. I did this year in June 2013, from Muscat, Oman to Hamburg, German via UAE, Iran, Turkey, Greece, Italy, France, Belgium and Netherlands. it took 20 days crossing 10,000km

I've been watching this video 10, 20 or 30 times already. Every time it gives me goospimples. The music is perfect, and the story you tell is incredible. It's not so much a story ... by jumping around from in time and space, you allow us to fully grasp the extent of your journey. Well done, Alex. This video is on my weekly to-watch list, and it inspires me to make my home movies as good as this. Still learning :)

dude. you are a fuckin hero. just simply amazing. overwhelmingly jealous and want to do the same SO BAD. just rode NYC to SF, 5900 miles, but this is some next level shit.

This video motivates me. When everyday problems (mostly financial) pressuring me and starts to seem that my dream of a bike should be postponed I watch this video. Thank you Alex! The most favorite video.

Honestly there are even thousands of videos on youtube of people doing exactly the same, unimaginable how many people did similar trips without filming and uploading it. Still, Alex did a great job and it's my all time favorite.

People keep telling me that I am crazy for wanting to travel the united states on a tw200. But you just have to get out there and do it for yourself and not worry about other people think.

7 years later, and it is still WOW, just WOW. What a journey and what an adventure! I love the music choice and the editing.The endless skipping with an always new and instant amazing picture. You nailed it man!

I saw this Video May 2013....and it kept me motivated to make the license and keep on pushing my limits.....as i visited most of Europe by Bike by now I'm searching for more Adventure....this Video changed my Life....next big thing for me is Sailing the 7 Seas....wish you well and drive safe!

We did 4 months on roughly a 10th of our annual household income. It gets a LOT cheaper if you leave the US. (Based on how much we've spent, our past few annual 2-3 week vacations would have financed well over twice as long outside the US.) Don't underestimate how much cheaper things are in some parts of the world. You don't need as much as you think you do (unless you're taking a tour or going someplace like Europe where the costs are similar) so it's definitely an achievable goal!

I've driven over that bridge at 8:02. Thats on the Dalton Highway near the arctic circle. Rode up to Barrow from Fairbanks once.

Finally I found this video again. I remember I watched this like 6-7 years ago and back then I didn't even have a motorcycle. Last year me and my wife as a pillion did a huge Europe tour for 24 days and it was hell of an experience. The only regret that I have is that I only used a one camera. While working on the footage I remember this video and I couldn't find it no matter what I try and after several months finally I did. I think somewhere in deep you made the inspiration to me for this kind of big trips. Thank you for giving the inspiration for the biggest experience in my life (so far).
