Motorcycle Diaries - A journey to the Highest Village in the World
Together with my friend Doove we embarked on a trip to South America in the search of a Motorcycle Adventure.
We flew to Peru with the plan to drive from the desert in the Pacific Ocean to La Rinconada (the highest village in the world at 5,100m above sea level).
Our journey started off in Arequipa then through the Panamerican Highway towards the desert of Nazca and Ica. We then climbed up the Andes and towards the ancient city of Machu Picchu. After that we headed east, towards the high altitude plains of the remote north-eastern Peru where eventually we made it to the dodgy gold mine that is La Rinconada, and sneaked into Bolivia for a beer. The end of our trip lead us to Puno and the highest lake in the world and eventually we made our way through the volcanic landscapes back to Arequipa.

Inspiring. That someone can be so unprepared as to go to the highest town in the world, but not bring gloves is just so inspiring. Don't sweat the big things (visa for Bolivia) or the small (gloves). Just go.

I only got five minutes in, due to no gloves and the proliferation of redundant "like" peppered throughout the conversations. Other than that, nice photography and I share a penchant for "scenic pees". 😁
I like your old school attitude of just making the trip and not getting bogged down with buying a lot of stuff that others say you need. This film really makes me value my freedom. Most are not so lucky.
That was the fastest 20 minutes I've ever spent watching a video. Amazing work!

Holly shit! You always have great videos with motorcycle. Your Himalayan Trip moved me to do motorcycle trip as well. Now I have some motorcycle traveling videos on my channel, under "Touring" playlist. It's addicting! Keep up the good work, man.
It's a miracle you guys survived this trip. There is absolutely no foresight, planning or riding experience. This is incredible. The naivety you guys have is a bit like Chris McCandless. Thankfully you're still alive.

Okay, I've finally found it. This is the single best video on KZread. It's like my dream in one video, I love travelling by motorcycle and I've been to Peru, just not on a motorcycle! Brilliant job with this, seriously. You make me want to pack up and go more than any other video, not that I didn't already want to, but this was just amazing. Keep it up!
