Adio died when the housing/stock market crashed in 2008. K2 Corp laid everyone off and sold the Adio name to Payless Shoes in the next few years. Planet Earth Clothing also ceased to exist. A LOT of the companies in this video didn't survive that market crash because a lot of skate shops also went under.

I remember there being a store in my hometown called Planet Earth that sold og electronics, pinball machines, video games, instruments, and some clothes. I don't think they had anything to do with the Planet Earth skate company but they were open through the mid 80s to early 90s. It was a pretty epic store for its time.

I got my first CCS mag in like 1996, remember when it was just called California Cheap Skates. The abbreviation came in like 1997-98. I generally skated around since the early 90s but I def missed those dope mid 90s years between 1993-95 but the era from 1996-2001 was an awesome time for skateboarding and underground hip-hop, alt rock died in 1997. I was there for the music from 1993-1994 though, such a better time to have been alive back then 👍.

I was already skating for a few years before that, but that was when I started ordering from skate catalogs. A lot of slick decks and size 40+ waistlines back then. LOL. And I agree, the mid / late 90's was definitely the greatest era for underground hip hop. And the early 90's was the last great era for classic punk albums.

@@ShredzShop yeah those were the trucks that tried to market themselves as no-slip axles. which was a pain in the late 90's early 2000's. So they put a pin through the center of the axle, so that's why if you look at pics of old titan trucks that have that dot in the middle of the hanger. Only problem was the axles would snap in the middle because of the hole for the pin.
