@@gwillis01 oh, and it gets even MORE interesting - there’s actually a company that put out a product that supposedly “eliminates” hangovers. So they market this by essentially saying “go on and drink the night away… you’ll wake up feeling like you didn’t drink at all!” It’s so troubling that there’s a concerted effort being made to market products that actually encourage overconsumption. 😩

Humbling and inspiring seeing all these comments. Just over four months for me and I’m finding it much easier than I thought I would. I drank heavily and often with the intent to get completely drunk in my twenties but in my mid to late 30s now it became more a “social” thing with the occasional big session. After the last blow out, I felt so bad the next day (I’ve never been sick the following day after a night of drinking ever before) I felt I didn’t want to waste my days and nights like this so pretty much decided there and then to quit.

Just starting my journey! This channel is amazing, thank you my brother
We somehow think that alcoholics are people that are over the edge with the drinking alcohol because, they have lost control of their drinking, lost marriages, families, friends, jobs, money, houses, dignity health etc. However another perspective is that anyone who drinks alcohol is an alcoholic, because somehow they also loose something, money, health etc overtime. They only difference is that they have not yet lost everything and gave up on life, but loose something they did.🤔

I'm 15 days without drinking, I've stopped and started so many times. What stopped me this time is pneumonia, yes having a serious chest infection has probably saved my life. At the moment I'm taking slow walks and extra light weight is in the gym. This is the most scary thing even though I've been seriously ill, I still feel better than when I was drinking.
That guy that assaulted 696,000 people should be in prison 😂. I’m 114 days sober today.
These facts are shocking and a must share.

Some real scary stats there Jae!! Thanks for the reminders. I’ve got one of my own…I checked out my ‘fitness age’ on my running app. It’s says my fitness age is 10 years more than my actual age!!!! It seems that all those years of daily drinking have taken a toll! But I’m on the right path to slowly getting it back, running, eating healthier food, and now almost TWENTY-THREE weeks without alcohol. 6 Months is getting real close 😊. So grateful for all you do. ❤️C

It just takes 1 time to ruin your integrity. To lose your freedom forever. To have that special someone leave. to lose your job. to get a DUI and so much more. Removing this 1 thing, alcohol, can save you from so much that you DON'T deserve.
Great video, as always. I recently found a different way to measure the impact of alcohol in a World Health Organisation study from 2017, which I think does a better job of putting the broad human cost into focus than the simple 'deaths per year' statistic. They calculate it by subtracting the age of a drinker's death from the average life expectancy in their region, and then adding all those numbers together. So in 2016, about 21.5 million years of life were lost due to alcohol. Isn't that wild?

Alcohol is a powerful drug. It's not your fault alcohol is so addictive. You should think deeply about why you are depressed. What is at the root of your depression? It is better for long run success if you start to fix your mental health before you try to stop drinking alcohol. You need NEW TOOLS to deal with frustration, stress, and sadness.

120 days sober after 45 years of HEAVY drinking. My sober friends are SO DAMN BORING OMG!!! I thought sobriety would give me more energy/enthusiasm to expand my interests and increase my activity, and it HAS, but every sober person I've met who's over 45 is a sack of lame-ass,-TV addicted homebodies who only care about new countertops and recipes. WOW I had no idea there could be anything more depressing than a bar-full of old alcoholics. It's a bit ...sad. But hey, my bloodwork is good. whooopeeeeeeee. 😐 (it's ok. i'm not giving up, just venting)

120 days is about when a lot of people (myself included) start wondering "Is this all there is?" It sounds like you are a candidate for taking up some healthy new activities to go with your newfound alcohol-free life. Maybe sign up for martial arts or start a rock band? Not everyone who is sober is boring, it sounds like you need to branch out and explore a bit more. Stick with it, please don't give up on yourself again.
