This was the one guy who brought in his own sharpened knife because he‘s always had problems with „dull“ knives. Edit: I have absolutely no knowledge over if this is correct or not. I just wanted to say that Avocado pits are hard af and no normal knife would be able to handle that with ease.

I used to know a guy who carved broaches from avocado seeds, they have a seam down the middle where they'll split if you apply force. If you get "lucky" you can hit that weakspot when cutting, and split the avocado if you try to just cut one in half.

Sophie Um. Americans have been familiar with avocados for quite sometimes now (as in decades). You can practically get avocados in every metropolitan city and the suburban areas. And plus, some of the 50 people here are Europeans and Africans who never came in contact with an avocado. And some people are just that sheltered or were probably raised in food desert areas.

I use to do the whole scoring and scooping method until I learned that most of the nutrients are in the dark green next to the rind and to get the most out of it you quarter and peel the rind off leaving as much dark green as you can. Gets your fingers a lil messy but it’s the easiest way to get the pit out because it’ll be stuck in just one of the four slices and you don’t waste anything!
