This was really great! So good for stopping and learning what each trick is called, i really love to study that! Can you tell me why 42 is called a fakie fs axle stall? I know it gets complicated once things are fakie. I would have thought this would be a fakie BS axle stall. Can you explain it to me please? thanks so much! ANd thanks for this great video! It shall be my reference to learn from!
@aleksandramirjanacrossan4442

same with fakie fs rock. i would have said bs. So if its fakie does that mean its called the opposite? I tried to remember fs and bs by thinking: if my frontside faces up the ramp, its fs, if my back turns towards up the ramp its bs. Is that different with fakie tricks?
@NeverStopImprovingSB
3 жыл бұрын
You are very observant and logical, because those are the only tricks in this video that don't have a consensus on how to refer to them, and you pointed them out right away. Very nice! And you are right, if the obstacle is on your frontside when you start the maneuver it's frontside, and the same for backside, but with these particular tricks, the obstacle starts out right at 90°, right on the dividing line between frontside and backside, so my intuition tells me to revert to the definition that doesn't consider an obstacle, like on flatground. So I figure, if a fakie frontside 180 on flatground is the same rotation that I'm making during my fakie frontside rock n' roll and fakie frontside axle stall, I'll refer to them as being frontside. But like I said before, there isn't a consensus, so either one can be 'correct,' which also means both ways will be ambiguous, so it's always a good idea to clarify the rotation when discussing these ones. Anyways, keep up the good work! 🤙

Nothing simple or easy about a straight up no comply! You're a legend for going for that one 🔥 Walking the dog isn't too bad, you just have to be committed to practicing it enough so that you can develop that sort of balance.
Hi there, I am looking to learn some of these tricks, would axel stalls, nose stalls and tail stalls be easy enough for a beginner?
@Chloe-ur2we
3 жыл бұрын
i would recommend rock to fakie, rock and roll and switch rock first, they may look hard but are relatively easy. once your comfortable with them try axel stalls on a smaller part of a quarter pipe if you can find one, it takes a lot of confidence for it but feels like a kick turn in the end!! hope this helped
@NeverStopImprovingSB
3 жыл бұрын
I agree with chloee, rock to fakie and rock n' roll (and fakie tail stall/drop in) are the first ones and are easy enough for a beginner to start working on. Nose stalls are a little harder but if that's what you decide to practice, they'll come quickly and easily enough. Oh and another really easy one is the slash grind!

One trick I've found is if you go to the skatepark during the weekdays when it's early in the day (like before 9am), a lot of the time they are completely empty! However, you really don't have to worry about that even when people are there, they are all thinking the same thing!
