50 Minute Barre Inspired Upper Body + Core Bootcamp Workout | Barreless Arms + Abs

ABOUT THE WORKOUT: dumbbells (light), a mat, and something for hydration for this upper body and core barre-inspired workout. This one is tough hence the name "bootcamp" with it. This 50 minute workout is all about strength and muscle endurance in the upper body. We begin with a quick bodyweight warm-up before moving on to our strength sections. Most of the exercises are timed, so look to the right hand corner for the countdown clock. When you hear the beep, we are done with that exercise and will transition to the next. There are minimal breaks today (the only real break is after the warm-up, then it's non-stop) so if needed, hit pause and take a break. Be sure to keep the core tight (to help stabilize the hips) on the unilateral exercises i.e. don't let the hip on the standing leg sway!

Total workout time is approx 50 minutes
Total workout time including stretching at the end is approx 53 minutes
Working out to: 130BPM (I dub music over top of what I am listening to, so it doesn't always match up perfectly... I try!!!)

    I did this work out as my gift to me on my 70th birthday and it was amazing and amazingly difficult! But I used 5lb weights through the whole workout, which almost killed me and candidly I had to put my arms down for a moment and almost retreated to 3lb weights, but being the bad ass that I try to be, I reverted back to the 5 lbs. But I loved every moment (in a love /hate kind of way). Thanks a million for starting off my entry into 71 years of living.

    Not gonna lie, I didn’t like you very much during this workout and may or may not have cursed every time you said “and now we pulse” 😆 But me and my 3lb weights got through it. My heart rate was elevated the entire time- this workout definitely had a cardio element. Looking forward to the barre inspired leg workout 🏋️‍♀️
