Mister you are one fine shot! Here in the UK we cannot even have target pistols for punching paper. I had a 6.5" S&W 44 mag model 29, a 4 "S&W 357 model 19 and a 5.5 " Ruger automatic in 22 lr.I really miss them and the relaxation they provided once a month. Glad to see them used in such an adult and responsible manner in the land of the free.S&W are the best!

I'm quite glad to know you are wise enough to know better than to cave into the silly liberal government's outlook on guns like the majority of the younger generation has. Propaganda should be outlawed, not guns! You didn't deserve to have to turn them in and it is a shame you and other law abiding citizens had to. You would be most welcome to come out to our place in Texas anytime to enjoy something you should never have lost the right to own. In the right areas, there are plenty of 'moving' targets to legally hunt here but in general, I only shoot what I can enjoy for meals.

Racer Hi Racer, thanks for the support and kind offer. We have just over a year to try to get pistol shooting back in Scotland, England and Wales. Northern Ireland never lost its 12,000 pistol shooters even although the ban was meant for the entire UK. Furthermore it's the only place in the UK that civilians can own pistols for self defence! Job bob nah if you shoot it properly it beats up the center of your hand and not your wrists. If you don't bend your elbows(bad form with hand cannons) all the recoil goes into your wrist.

I’ve had the performance center 500 7.5 inch barrel 10 years, awesome gun! Full muzzle break and gorgeous gun! You should give that one a shot...half the recoil of that one!

It's a blast! 45 Magnum performance, with less muzzle lift and perceived recoil than a 45 acp! Follow up shots are very quick, and no flinch factor!

Awesome video!!! My question is: What scope are you using that holds zero on such a powerful revolver? I'm an avid handgun hunter and I have a Burris Fastfire II on my Glock 20 which love and I've had various scopes on my Ruger Super Redhawk 44 mag that were rattled by hot handloads, I'm currently shooting iron sights on my Dan Wesson 44 mag and I enjoy that for 30 yds or less but would also like to extend the range by putting a scope back on my Super Red Hawk. wisper6419 i went to harbor freight and used a drill holster for my 8 inch raging bull with a scope. Best 5 dollars ive ever spent

+Rophoenix I would think a 44magnum would be better because it still has the power to put down mostly anything without the wrist breaking recoil of the 500 not to mention the 44 has 6 shots 500 only has 5

+NotIrishRider While I love the 44, I disagree with you about the number of shots. By the time you may have reached the need for the 6th shot you're just throwing lead and probably in a haphazard manner. When hunting bear I'd much rather use a single shot .470 Nitro Express than a .223 with a 10 round magazine.

John Jones That for self defence capacity is very important ... which is what the main comment was about the 44magnum is going to stop basically everything and a person can be very accurate even when shooting rapidly not to mention it allows for follow up shots fast

Friedrich Gutenberg::: Look Mr. Gutenberg, the term you use "loose gun laws" is very much open to interpretation (that is as nice as I can say you are full of $&#!). I assume you reside in the Communistic State of California by the way you insinuate that other places have "loose gun laws". The fact is, firearm laws are far to restrictive through out the country resulting in criminals having many advantages over tax paying and law abiding citizens relative to the right to defend in place.

Hey Kieth, isn't this the same water hole you nailed a couple hogs on with an air rifle in another video??

These 500s and 460s S&W are superb handguns. For wild boar, a 41 or 44 magnum will also do the job just as well. I shot a large Russian boar in California, weighing 350lbs on the hoof (scale before gutting) with extremely tough side plates exceeding 2 inches on both sides, the bullet exited drilling both shoulders. When it was still legal and actually obligatory in CA. To hunt with a bullet that showed some lead, I used a 220gr. Sierra Silhouette bullet chrono. at 1450 fps out of a SW model 29, 6" at very close range. 10, 11 yards... Devastating. Shot placement is the most important. For large bears I would use my 500. Great shot in the video.
