Amazing use of uncle Roger! Absolutely hilarious!! Counterfeit ammo for exotic rounds is a huge bummer

Thank you Matt, another great video
I like how the swiss-p makes all those sparks... probably ignites gas tanks better than standard AP...
Awesome as always. Very interesting outcomes.
Matt: Have you seen the tests done by Going Ballistic on multi plate vs. single plate equivalence? Obviously, WTW kind of set the benchmark with single plate (.75") AR-500...which defeated pretty much everything in .50 BMG, that he threw at it which didn't include any SLAP rounds. Going Ballistic cleared that question up shooting the standard SLAP round through 1" AR-500. You are the first channel to feature the RUAG round that I know of and I wondered if you had any .75" or 1" AR-500 plates to test, due to differences between multiple plate impacts versus single plate tests. The Mk 211 Raufoss and the M263 were both stopped by the .75" AR-500 single plate at 12 yds., in the WTW 'We Tried Everything' video! Over the years I have tested a lot of fifty caliber projectiles, including a number of experimental rounds back in the mid to late 80's through the early 2000's... and the PPI's were the best against most of the metal targets that I was interested in ranging from cold rolled to swaged tungsten (e.g.- shooting 105mm tungsten penetrators base first). The factory Anthena PPI would fairly easily clear 2.5" cold rolled and bury themselves several inches in seasoned oak capture blocks. None of the other rounds (including the standard SLAP rounds) would do that including the 965 to 1.010 grain tungsten rounds. I finished testing the .50 BMG before the AR-500 plates became so popular but thanks to U-tube and the multiple channels providing that type of content, you all are providing many of the answers. You are one of the most thorough in terms of your methods and the breakdown details and I know that can be a lot of work! Thanks for what you do and keep your powder (and bore) dry... especially, in high humidity situations! One other thing. I know of no other fifty caliber projectile that could provide a higher muzzle energy with acceptable pressures than the RUAG round and whatever metal they are using for their penetrator (even with no ballistic embedding cap) has proven to stand up to impacts vs. cold rolled steel at velocities in the low 6,000 fps range!

He is the first channel I saw to see through 0.75 inch AR500 steel actually. If he had the plates spaced out. It would have been even a lot easier to penetrate.
Ar500 armor just came out with their p3 plate (all poly) claiming to stop m855 at 2750ft/s. Would love to see that tested

I some what doubt those claims unless they have actual NIJ lab results. MOST PE plates fail to SBR 10.5" M855 at 2500 fps.
Super Spicy Rounds!!! Glad you are being safe. These rounds can cause lots of hurts if they aren't loaded right.

You got that right! I did pull the suspect 2 rounds before firing them.
For future reference, what headstamps should be expected for 211?

A lot of it that I've come across is "FNB", but I've seen Lake City too. It was introduced in 81/82 IIRC.
Good video, insane 😁💯
p.s. an accuracy test at a few hundred yards would also be very interesting - thanks!
I bought some mk263 from American Marksman about a year ago. Are they reputable? I’d be more than willing to send a few to you if it could help with the 50bmg research.

American Marksman is reputable. That’s where mine are from :)
Can you tell the difference between legit Mk211 and M8 API by the ogive? Either way, nice to see a test against 3/4" hardened steel, and also Mk263 for comparison.

What’s the deal with mk263? Seems only American marksman sold it and it’s been out of stock forever

I think it's made in Canada. Perhaps it was a De-mill and they got their hands on it?
M2 "Abrams". M2 is Bradley, M1 is Abrams, which is it? I wouldn't expect a Bradley side-skirt to fare much better than 2x 3/8 AR-500, although the plates being spaced with an air-gap should provide a level of protection greater than sum of the plates. An M1 side-skirt - doubtful you could ever get the ~ reinforced one. It's a controlled item due to what's inside it.

.50cal is hardly a EDC or viable hunting round! What’s the point?

Because stone cold said so? It's fun to shoot at the range, and in the time of need an anti-material rifle. So Why not?
This video would be so much better without the horrible music.
