Same here. I have been driving my new LT model for three weeks, and I am in love with it. It is a great vehicle with alot of great features for the money. It is great on gas, and has alot of pickup despite the engine size. I use my car to commute back and forth to work, and to and from the grocery store. I get this vehicle is not for everyone.

My wife and i were on the market for a RAV4 or CRV and we saw these on the chevy lot. We bought 2 Trax for the price of what 1 RAV4 would have cost us out the door. On our 3rd oil change and absolutely love it. Would recommend .

Yea but the motor has a wet timing belt system and not a timing chain

@@kelj4517 There's a lot of vehicles that have lubricated timing chains and the darn things still have issues and cost a fortune to repair. If a chain goes while running down the road, there's often no difference, your engine could easily be lost. From what I've read it has a 150k service interval, so it's designed for that environment. That just means it's more important to perform maintenance properly for your operating conditions -- just as it is for an engine with a chain.

I've had my 2RS since last August and I never realized the armrests were scratchy? OMG I live in the real world. Seriously I have 10k on mine and haven't had any issues. I love it. The only thing I don't have is the Convenience safety tech, a disappointment but what I could find.

It's a $21,000 to 26,000 go play with each other and have fun😂

Just bought a black LT Trax, we love it. This is a poor review of a nice affordable vehicle. These things punch way above the price in what you get. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING WITH A CVT IVT or any other kind of trash trans. This ride has a real trans and a powerplant that has been in service for a few years without any major issues.

I just bought my 2024 Chevrolet Trax 2RS and its wonderful!❤😊

As far as "losing" 18 hp compared to the previous generation, most first-generation Trax models had the 138 hp version of the 1.4L Turbo, which also put out 148 lb/ft of torque. The Trax had the 155 hp version as the sole engine only for its last model year in 2022. The 1.2L has similar power but more torque than the 1.4L that you'll find in most 1st gen models.

I've had my 1RS since February and it is working really well. I don't know why in all these videos they complain about the armrest and some other minor things?! Maybe they don't find anything else! Yes, it's not a perfect car, but at this price it is a perfect car. Live in the real world and adapt your expectations to the price you pay.

This car is faster than it sounds.

In order to get the SUV Corolla or Civic, you’re going to be paying over 30 grand. I got my 2024 Trax RS for under 24 grand and I love it. No, it may not have all the bells and whistles on it, but I didn’t have to pay the extra cost for them, either. Running 60mph, I average 32 mpg, running 87 octane. Now, there are 2 things I do not like about it. I have manual seats, not the problem. The problem is the tiny, little handle in the middle at the extreme lower part of the seat. It is very hard to reach at a standstill, let alone when driving. The second is this god awful noise canceling noise at certain speeds that is 100 times worse than the road noise it is supposed to help get rid of. The plastic armrest’s? They are arm rest, you aren’t supposed to lean on them, they’re fine. It is very roomy and I don’t have an issue with the takeoff speed. It has plenty of power. I get on an 80 mph turnpike without any issues with it. It has plenty of speed for passing on 2 lane highways. No, it isn’t a sports car, but it is yet sporty. We love our Trax 1RS.

What's really strange is the 1.3 liter which isn't available in the Trax, has better fuel economy than the 1.2 liter.

Can't beat the price for the looks.👍 Especially in this economic times. Other brands like Honda and Kia have high markup over MSRP. Honda had an $8,000 higher than MSRP and said it started at $22,000. I couldn't afford that Kia and Hyndai wanted $2,500 to $3,500 above MSRP. Mazda said they will sell at MSRP$25,000 but, kept adding on and ended up over $28,500 without the taxes and destination fees. This is the best in the class. Actually, it's in a class of it's own. There truly is no comparison. Surprised they still make a car around $21,000.

Just got mine Cayenne Orange and im loving it. The ride and what I paid for it sold me. It was between the Honda HRv and Trax and Trax I captured.😊

Durability? Is the engine too small and overstressed? Is there enough horse power for 4 adults?

Longer and lower, it's morphing into a station wagon and I'm all for that.

I wonder for all the small nitty gritty that are missing on the Tax... Is because of the more luxurious Envista ?

1.3 with a hybrid system this would be an amazing small suv. This one would of been a real class leader

Parents have my grandparents GM family purchase program. Paying only MSRP, no markup, and my down payments it’s $150 a month. Seems likes a a decent commuter. Not a fan of 3cyl. But my race care is an SRT4. I just need to get groceries without getting pulled over with my no cat SRT4

You shouldn't pay MSRP for any GM vehicle. Watch some videos on how to negotiate a good deal.

Thanks for sharing your insights. My main concern is the durability of the 1.2 three-cylinder engine. The low price of the 2024 Chevy Trax is certainly attractive, but I have to wonder how it will hold its value if the engine is not able to endure more than 120K miles due to the stress of having only three cylinders. The engine has purely direct injection without any port injectors, so it will be prone to buildup problems. Turbocharger's intercoolers in these engines are known to be weather-dependent. They will freeze when it's cold outside and the turbo will lose its efficiency. While in most cases, the problem will disappear when the engine is fully warmed up, in some situations, the intercooler may be damaged. Its replacement is not a cheap thing, so better avoid leaving your Trax outside for a winter night. You two make a good couple.

Say what you want about the Trax. But I had a kia Seltos and I sold it to buy a Trax and have been nothing but happy about the switch. The only thing that Kia and Hyundai have over the Trax is the Warranty. They are a piece of junk vehicles that most insurance companies don't want to insure nowadays. In fact I would recommend a Trax to anyone who's in the market for a very nice affordable vehicle

Know the engine does use a wet timing belt that I believe requires a cover replacement when the job is done.

Whats concerning to me is the timing belt is a wet belt....what the hell was gm thinking....makes no sense why they would do this

This version of the Trax has been out for a few years. But it was known as the Chevrolet Seeker overseas. Just a little trivia.

Seriously. There are FOUR DIFFERENT screens for the 8 inch driver screen. Maybe own the vehicle and drive it in a foot of snow in 18 degrees before you start bad mouthing it. I would buy five more Trax instead a Ford, KIA, Hyundai, Mazda, Nissan, Honda or Toyota with a the junk CVT. There is a reason Trax owners love these because we have put the miles and time into them.

I live in Idaho and just purchased one. I have never had a AWD here but clearance has been the issue with all my vehicles in the snow. Too low to the ground. Hoping better results with the trax!

How is the Trax in comparison to it's cousin the Buick Envista?

I owned a chevy Cruze 2012 for about 5years after 63k the turbo blew up and many parts had to be replaced by chevy they fully backed their automobile I purchased, that being said I'm still kinda leary about any turbo engines, I really am looking at hybrid system cars without a turbo engine to get great gas milage but a lot more confidence that it will last. I really like this trax and want to love this cheaper offering but with my family in mind Its a pass on buying one .

I test drove one and there is nothing good about it. It looks good and the buck stops there. I went with a 2024 Kia Seltos SX. I have a 1.6T 4 cyl, 8 speed auto, AWD, and many more features like Bose audio, sunroof, and smart liftgate.

Absolutely Chevy should ditch the Trailblazer and should've had an option to make this 4 wheel drive. It's ALMOST a perfect car.

Teeny weeny 3 cyl turbo with a wet timing belt? Good luck with that...

They need to create a cheap Trax pickup.

@@dwnshft There are none. The comment was make a Trax type truck and the response was Ford did. No they did not. Even a Mav with ZERO options is $26K A fully loaded out Trax ACTIV is $27K. You can't even compare them. I have owned and driven 7 Fords in 40 years. Transmission issues in all of the automatics. Cars, trucks and SUV. I thought I wanted to buy another Ford until I started looking at how expensive they were compared to the 2024 Trax and how poorly Ford's CEO thinks of their loyal customers. If production can keep up with demand the Trax will be the third best selling GM behind the Silverado and Equinox.

They should be available with AWD!!

The turbo charger will eventually kill that engine in about 3 to 4 years with blown head gaskets Just sell before warranty expires don’t just look at the great styling

I don't think that's a real SUV. The roof is too low. It's a crossover... It's like a really tall sedan but the back is like somewhere in between a station wagon and hatchback

U left out the Worst thing about it.... That hideous sunroof. It doesn't fully open. It just tilts. That was very bleh to me overall.

Well, if it's a GM or Ford, it's junk!! I just don't want to buy a crossover that I will hate just by looking at your video! I'm driving a 2022 Hyundai Kona 1.6 turbo and I'm not the type that shops at Walmart, so I guess it's a no for me Trax!

The engine for Chevy Trax is 100% made in China. So much for buying America! The inside is nothing but hard plastic. People are having problems with windows and back up camera and the middle screen. Remember, size doesn't always matter.

Hmm. I feel after driving nearly 7,000 miles in 3.5 months that both the driver display, infotainment, environmental controls and the interior are all great and customizable. My Activ has cushy armrests and console. Not sure what these guys are talking about.
