2024 Buick Envista vs Chevrolet Trax | SUV Comparison | Driving.ca

#ChevroletTrax #BuickEnvista #SUVcomparison
Consumer interest in small cars for people who “like to sit up high” has been so strong that it appears makers have actually tried to properly engineer these vehicles for the crop of offerings. And no glow-up has been stronger than the Chevy Trax, a former punch-line of a car that lined the back of the Hertz lot like lint in your pocket, which is now the runaway leader in the segment. Careful who you make fun of in grade school!
The 2024 Chevrolet Trax starts at a Millennial-friendly $23,699 (including the whopping $2,000 destination fee) and for that money you get a lot of car. Well not in terms of size, but I digress. The Trax would be the runaway winner in its segment if it wasn’t for its strongest rival: the Buick Envista.

Good comparison but what about powertrain longevity? 1.2 turbo with a timing belt concerns me & only 5 year 100000 kilometer powertrain warranty.

Not sure why there’s a need to compare. The Envista beats the Trax on everything except on pricing (Trax is cheaper) and cargo space (Trax has more).

Hello, Thank you for the review. Does the Trax have AwD? I am trying to decide between the two.

Neither the Trax or Envista have AWD. You’d have to step up to the Trail Blazer or the Encore GX if you want AWD.

I looking to downsize to a crossover subcompact for ease of city parking to replace a 9yr old Camry LE. Comparing these to Honda HRV, Mazda CX-30, Toyota CorollaCross. Agree with post that the Encore GX FWD 1.2L CVT should have been included in comparo. Going to wait to see what Buick & Chevy changes for 2025 models. Hoping they add rear wiper and offer 1.3L 3cy turbo with same 6sp-Auto on Envista. Looks like from online articles on GM/Chev/Buick-Korea 1.3L available inTrailblazer, EncoreGX have a timing-chain vs 1.2L's timing-belt. Sharp vehicles all three.

I’m semi retired and have worked part time at a jeep dealer for 7 years.A compass with the same equipment as my envista is 34k.My envista was under 26k. I know the Jeep has awd but For 8000 more I don’t need it.

The DRL’s for all Buicks just seem so high and disjointed. Would like to see it integrated with the grill more for a more sophisticated face.
