Thanks for the video, its quite helpful to get an idea whether this device can do the things I would like to do with it. I'm not so interested in the algorithmic generation side. More in the sophisticated arp functions that respond in real time to what is played. Without any pre determined scale or chord quantise.

Definitely cool device. Can you also turn the fixed step number off so it functions like a typical arp on a synth? That can be quite nice for arp-based playing.

Wow, thank you for this video, the Midicake was on my radar when it came out, but the vids didn't really show it's potential like this... Looking forward to more, would be cool to see a jam,as well as a whole song created with The Cake

Yeah. I’m diving in it for the moment. I think I’ll have a demo song to show in a couple of weeks.

Can this thing work with VST Synths in your DAW? It would be pretty slick if it could do that!!

someone knows how it compares/differs with the "NDLR" or the "Kordbot"?

I recently bought the Arp to use with my much loved NDLR. The NLDR is n excellent device for jams with complex structure and complex chord experimentation. It's incredibly flexible. The Arp complements the NDLR by taking the chord midi channel and then creating additional rhythmic patters using modulations. I use the ndlr's drone track as a bass or drone, and it's two motif tracks as the leads. The Arp adds rhythm and progressions. So the NDLR is my "master composition" engine and the Arp adds huge variation.

@@joesweeney6262 Thank you. Is tehere an iPad app that has the same capabilities as the "Arp" hardware nowadays?

@@kisho2679 I do not know of one. I do use Stepic Vst as my standard step sequencer, which is incredibly good value. Stepic can also sequence midi cc, so I have a set up where stepic sends commands to the NDLR (and soon the Arp) and as well as to instruments. So a sequencer controlling a sequencer...

Great video. I have one and love it even though i am just learning it. Do you have each of the 4 synths you used daisy chained or do you have a hub? Thanks so much and great video :)

All my MIDI devices are connected to an old MIDI patchbay (just like a hub). I’ll do another video just about the MIDI setup I use.
