love that you're talking about tags bro. I fw tags way more than most pieces/throws, they're just more interesting to me right now. Most tutorial/discussion online about graf doesn't seem to care much about tags, appreciate it. Gotta cop ur book soon when I'm not broke asf

I really enjoy looking at flare tags, but I think the kind I like the most is just simple letters, with a little bit of style, but not too much going on. I really like it when a tag is readable by the majority of people who don't really take time to read more complex styles.

Oneliners and clean simple tags (think the old school price signs at grocery stores) are definitely my favorite. I do really like the more west coast/hood influenced hand style too.

Bro I love drips. It is not just about the look it gives to the letters but the satisfaction I get when feel the ink flowing true the nib forming a great tag. Some people may say that doing drippy tags makes no sense because it is a waste of paint, but I personally think that is better to make a couple of tags that you enjoyed doing radder make a hundred tags that don't even look good because you are so thrifty for the ink. I don't say that if you don't do drippy tags you suck. That's only how I feel about drippy tags, I enjoy a lot the other styles too.

Oh dude ok ok so check this out, I recommend getting the new book rather than the set if you can only afford 1. The set is more like an introduction, and covers basic techniques. However, to use those techniques effectively you first need to know the basics otherwise those techniques won't look right as your fundamentals will be off. The new book is cheaper as its a single book, and it teaches you all of graffitis fundamentals. Since you've been taught poorly in the past, this book will teach you proper. Use the code welcome10 for 10% off any order. Save as much as you can of that allowance.

@@KrazyCreates23 the bundle teaches basic piecing structure, drop shadow, basic 3d, 1 point perspective, and advanced lighting to help shade your graffiti. If that's up your alley then that book is the way to go. If you're looking to nail down your fundamentals first then definitely the ultimate graffiti guide book is the better option. The ultimate graffiti guide book is the one I spoke of in the last comment. That one teaches each of graffitis basics in depth and goes over extra tips such as finding and making your style.

Flares and chisel tags are probably my favorite though i never do either of those really. Im a fan of one liners since alot of time im just using some rusto stock caps and i think that style lends itself well to those. Technically my tags arnt one continus line i do pick up the pen once or twice but having letters connect to eachother is just such an easy way to have some nice flow and a bit of style. I have fallen victim to trying to force connection that dont really work with tags before, its almost like a crutch for me, doesnt look like a tag? Well then arbitrarily connect all the letters 😅

Good vid, but gotta put One liners below our handstyles tho. If you can throw a wicket you can already do a oneliner. Wickets takes literal years to learn and master, you can't even go out and toss em up, they stay in your book until their perfect. Hell even learning tall hands is harder than one liners. Wickets & tall hands are all about can control anyway. Not gonna debate Philly vs NY handstyles as i love them both, but as a Philly native, gotta put one liners beneath us personally. They dope, but they're like a stepping stone for us.

Maybe I'm thinking into this too hard, but I feel like calligraphy and graffiti can exist side by side without being calligraffiti. If I wanna hammer out some calligraphy on a handrail with a metal tip white out pen I'm gonna. May not have that graffiti style influence but.. is it still graffiti?

you're 100% right, they certainly can and do. infact, I was kind in the video, but really so few people actually achieve successfully blending the two to the point where it cant even really be called a whole subcategory art form. Honestly, maybe 1 or two people have done it successfully, and even then, not consistently. They certainly can exist beautifully side by side though.

Chisel tips can be any tag with a chisel tip ( including the NY style ), but NY styles are a very specific look and a fundamental method of how they're done. The slight left lean, the spacing, the proportion, the chisel, so on so forth. So in short, I wanted to single out NY styles from other chisel tips because I thought the NY style deserved its own spot
