love that you're talking about tags bro. I fw tags way more than most pieces/throws, they're just more interesting to me right now. Most tutorial/discussion online about graf doesn't seem to care much about tags, appreciate it. Gotta cop ur book soon when I'm not broke asf

fr, a wall of a bunch of tags with all different styles and colors is way more cool than a wall with one piece in my opinion

Same, I've always loved tags more. Tags, throws, and straights.. What more do you need? 🤷♂️😅
Oneliners with flares are so smooth and also so smooth doing them

flairs are mint, gotta love a good flair, especially those people who rock wild tags with plenty of flairs, my god.
I really enjoy looking at flare tags, but I think the kind I like the most is just simple letters, with a little bit of style, but not too much going on. I really like it when a tag is readable by the majority of people who don't really take time to read more complex styles.
Never been a fan of Philly hand styles, I was surprised by your enthusiasm for them and all of the comments sharing the same sentiment. To each their own.

My thoughts exactly
Chisel tips are my favorite, they have such a style that I love and they are one of the most legible for me. I agree with the drips too certain ones are so cool to look at when they get the drips perfect!
Been writing off and on since 98. One liner handstes are by far the best when executed properly

Oneliners and clean simple tags (think the old school price signs at grocery stores) are definitely my favorite. I do really like the more west coast/hood influenced hand style too.
Bro I love drips. It is not just about the look it gives to the letters but the satisfaction I get when feel the ink flowing true the nib forming a great tag. Some people may say that doing drippy tags makes no sense because it is a waste of paint, but I personally think that is better to make a couple of tags that you enjoyed doing radder make a hundred tags that don't even look good because you are so thrifty for the ink. I don't say that if you don't do drippy tags you suck. That's only how I feel about drippy tags, I enjoy a lot the other styles too.

Aye i can get behind that, drips are definitely sick, when done well. Who doesn't love a nice drippy tag with clean letters to go with it
Caligraffiti is probably my favorite, especially when stylized for graffiti supplies well
I’m here ❤doing my homework 📚
Love Philly styles, breaking down how the letters works always make me wanna learn, Enem from TDK with the heart style was my introduction to Philly hands and it's wild
The sf busflow is one of my favs, especially if done well.
One of the highlights of going to Philly for me was seeing them hand styles... nothing like that up here (Wilkes-Barre, Scranton, Hazleton, Stroudsburg). NY and flares are also dope too.
For flare tags.....you don't have to flick your wrist as most youtubers say....all you need is a fat cap....just tag like if it was a regular cap....flares come on their own
wildstyle tags and flare tags are the best frfr
do a video about Pixo, the brazilian style, pls

It's a sport. The "action" counts more than Graff. Climbing buildings and train surfing, etc.
I need to send u some of my calli-graffiti cuz I honestly have been practicing for months and think I've nailed it.

shoot it over in instagram DM or email (jongrim219@gmail.com) . I hope you're correct because if I'm being honest, I think maybe one or two people have done it, and even then they don't do it consistently. Mixing artforms is very hard if you don't have a masterful knowledge of both.
Super Cool!!!
flares are my fav, I never could get good flares from bottom to top they would come out inconsistent. But one friend to me to go top to bottom and it change the game for me I would do huge flare to really thin bottoms.
I absolutely love Brazilian graffiti it’s called Pixão and in my opinion it’s the perfect tag shapes and I love how tall and skinny the letters are
Hey Grim! I have had to restart graffiti TWICE due to being taught by a toy both times. Im getting my allowance which isn’t much, and I’m going to buy your $35 set of books with my $40 allowance . Your tutorials have helped me a lot so far, and I want to extend all of that with the books. Thank!

Oh dude ok ok so check this out, I recommend getting the new book rather than the set if you can only afford 1. The set is more like an introduction, and covers basic techniques. However, to use those techniques effectively you first need to know the basics otherwise those techniques won't look right as your fundamentals will be off. The new book is cheaper as its a single book, and it teaches you all of graffitis fundamentals. Since you've been taught poorly in the past, this book will teach you proper. Use the code welcome10 for 10% off any order. Save as much as you can of that allowance.

@@Theartistblock alright man! I don’t use money much outside of random hobbies, and the guide book set kinda looked like it went from basic to advanced in one book. I’ll buy the ultimate guide book (is that the right one?) around next Friday. You really help a lot so thanks again for that lol

@@KrazyCreates23 the bundle teaches basic piecing structure, drop shadow, basic 3d, 1 point perspective, and advanced lighting to help shade your graffiti. If that's up your alley then that book is the way to go. If you're looking to nail down your fundamentals first then definitely the ultimate graffiti guide book is the better option. The ultimate graffiti guide book is the one I spoke of in the last comment. That one teaches each of graffitis basics in depth and goes over extra tips such as finding and making your style.

@@Theartistblock alright
Having a legible simple tag that can be read across the street beats anything that over stylized and has too many flourishes(arrows halos stars ect)
NY handstyles cannot be beat IMO. Maybe its my obsession with the history, but for my money it doesnt get any better NY
I've got some crazy stories while doing graff. Like I made two crackheads fight each other for 5 bucks😂 and I got arrested for tagging cop cars. My dumb ass has no limits 😂

Great video
I thin down house or regular art paint with water or like the alcohol 87% 81% ect and put it in like a Elmer’s glue deal and then it drips and you can spray it on any surface
Or oneliners that throw you off. So it seems as if it flows one way but is actually done differently
When does the paperback book come out?
Oneliners ❤
I Gotta Say My Favorite Tags Are One Liners, I Just Gotta Learn To Make Mine A Little Cleaner. 💯
Flares and chisel tags are probably my favorite though i never do either of those really. Im a fan of one liners since alot of time im just using some rusto stock caps and i think that style lends itself well to those. Technically my tags arnt one continus line i do pick up the pen once or twice but having letters connect to eachother is just such an easy way to have some nice flow and a bit of style. I have fallen victim to trying to force connection that dont really work with tags before, its almost like a crutch for me, doesnt look like a tag? Well then arbitrarily connect all the letters 😅
stockholm style is my favorite here we maximize the damage :)
Opinion on molotow markers?
Wooo
can u pls make a video explaining philly handstyles because im not from philly and i can’t find an explanation video on them
NY, flares, chisel is where it’s at. I can’t stand the “ caligraffiti “ that people do in concentric circles or other geometric patterns.
😊
1. New York Handstyles, 2. Chisel, 3. One Liner/Flare
Good vid, but gotta put One liners below our handstyles tho. If you can throw a wicket you can already do a oneliner. Wickets takes literal years to learn and master, you can't even go out and toss em up, they stay in your book until their perfect. Hell even learning tall hands is harder than one liners. Wickets & tall hands are all about can control anyway. Not gonna debate Philly vs NY handstyles as i love them both, but as a Philly native, gotta put one liners beneath us personally. They dope, but they're like a stepping stone for us.
Calligraphy IS a way, but not the way ! Just hit the game.
Maybe I'm thinking into this too hard, but I feel like calligraphy and graffiti can exist side by side without being calligraffiti. If I wanna hammer out some calligraphy on a handrail with a metal tip white out pen I'm gonna. May not have that graffiti style influence but.. is it still graffiti?

you're 100% right, they certainly can and do. infact, I was kind in the video, but really so few people actually achieve successfully blending the two to the point where it cant even really be called a whole subcategory art form. Honestly, maybe 1 or two people have done it successfully, and even then, not consistently. They certainly can exist beautifully side by side though.
Wekman style 🎉

Tags are the foundation
I have a story, one time I was doing a tag in School and then I heard a loud whistle. I thought it was the security guard but it was just a kid so I finished the tag

Dude whats the different between chisel and what you call "new york handstyle"
@Theartistblock
3 ай бұрын
Chisel tips can be any tag with a chisel tip ( including the NY style ), but NY styles are a very specific look and a fundamental method of how they're done. The slight left lean, the spacing, the proportion, the chisel, so on so forth. So in short, I wanted to single out NY styles from other chisel tips because I thought the NY style deserved its own spot
You missed Pixo or Pixacao
Please make a video on wicket/philly style

it would be really cool to see a breakdown of how they work, but i think he might be iffy on sharing too much about them because it could lose the “regional” aspect of the style if the internet gets a hold of it. watch his video about regional styles tho!

But his ea conect but the s and y dont. And the only reason I say something is that you show an easy tag for the first on the one line section. Peace be the journey.
