realizing my narcissistic abusive mother is in a trauma bonded relationship with my borderline sister. as mom ages and my sis gets older and angrier, it’s harder to tell who the abuser is. when i try to go visit, my sister attacks me. mom used to beat up on me when i was a kid but she plays the victim with my sister really well these days. ive decided that when violence is involved, im not engaging and im out. sometimes family is the enemy, and estrangement is the best option.

So helpful! Have you ever discussed or explored how donors and volunteers can be educated on how to interact and speak with sensitivity when dealing with trauma impacted young people, who have been in foster care or have been homeless?

Trauma bonds in song lyrics "lie to me, i promise i'll believe. Lie to me, just don't leave" "When he lied it meant he loved me. When he lied it meant he cared. When he lied it meant he loved me becsuse he was there"

As a clinician working with many in trauma bonded relationships- I would not comment on how well-behaved their children are. That kind of reinforcement fir good behavior is exactly how/why the person got into a compliantaccommodation stance.

It's been a big topic in my life lately. And I'm wondering if it's possible to be trauma bonded with a specific medical facility. They are everywhere in Nashville... ALL THE SAME... and they USUALLY see the diagnosis and they talk about it in front of me like I can't hear or like I deserve to be treated with hostility. Then they get angry and they say "oh so-and-so it's gonna have to deal with her cause nobody has time for this today!!!!" ... things like this. I'm just standing there or sitting there wondering what have I done so horrible in my life that every time I come in to one of these facilities, they just go by what's written in huge letters at the top of my paper even though I can't think of any reason I've ever given them to treat me this way. Why even to get my records I have to make a full appointment even if I just had one a few weeks before, and then they still won't let me have my records. The last time I went there, nothing was resolved, all they kept talking about was that I talked too fast it's unacceptable and I need to be hospitalized. She could not process that I am under the care of a mental health facility and the real thing we're working on is how do I deal with people that are uneducated. Usually the medical people. How is this possible!? But I have nowhere else to go medically. It's a vicious cycle and I don't know how to get out of it

You’re being ‘gaslighted’ how awful by these medical professionals - no compassion or empathy not much different in Australia 🇦🇺 either lack of resources for those who live on welfare it’s getting worse

I’m not sure about mental health records, they may want to review and explain them to you. You do have a right to request a copy of your medical records. You should be given a copy at a reasonable cost and within a reasonable time frame.

I'm so sorry that you are being treated this way by your clinic. Remember, you are a person and you are important. Just as important as anyone else! You might need to contact another person in the organization to let them know about the difficulty you are having trying to obtain your medical records and how you are being treated. This should not be happening to anyone in a medical setting.

I have been trying to practice nonjudgmental support for over 20 years with my friend. She has filed for divorce 3 times but cancelled it every time and falls right back into endless complaining about how abusive he is and how she’s going to divorce him. It’s an endless loop. At what point am I an enabler instead of a supporter? I am way over it now, as is most of the rest of her support system, and find myself snapping, and yet there you still are! I hate to abandon her. I hope there’s something on your channel to help me.
