I've been doing most of these things with my youngest, but she's very quiet. The most noise she makes is when she's tired or hungry. She's 6 months now, and both my boys were making far more noise, and a wider variety of noises by now. She tends to copy mouth movements, but not noise. She passed her newborn hearing test, but she's also not very reactive to noises. She's completely ignored motercycles going passed the front of the house, and had no reaction to thunder the first time she heard it. But she does react to some sounds, or at least she seems to. She will look in the direction of the front door when someone comes in (not usually visible from where she is), and she will look at people who are speaking. I'm just confused.

Thank you so much for this very informative video. My daughter started babbling at around 4 months old and was quite vocal. However, she seemed to stop this entirely around 6-7 months and I was wondering if you have any insight on this. She stopped babbling around the same time she started sitting, crawling, and pulling herself up. Do you have experience with babies babbling normally and then completely stopping?

My baby is approaching 6 months and no signs of babbling. She started cooing early on with "oohs" and "aahs" and has been able to use the consonant g to make sounds like "guuh" and "geeh", but she's never said "ba" or "ma" and she doesn't repeat consonants with vowels to make babbling sounds. At first it seemed she was cognitively advanced for her age, so now I'm a bit worried that she may not meet this milestone on time.

Lizzie W I would visit your pediatrician, discuss your concerns, and ask for a speech language pathologist referral. Or, seek a speech language pathologist (SLP) in your area based on google searches. Some SLPs will give a free consultation, and give their professional opinion on your child needing speech services based on a short one-on-one visit. Since she is young, you qualify for early intervention services in your state. I would start with your pediatrician though!

My son is about to be 8 months at the end of June 2021, he’s been crawling since 5 months and has started babbling around 6 & a half months. He says MaMaMaMaMa, DaDaDaDaDa, lalalalala, jajajaja and he blows raspberries, etc. a lot more now. I talk to him sometimes and he will repeat what I say.

Definitely keep encouraging the babbling, if you are concerned speak with your baby's pediatrician. Here is another video on babbling kzread.info/dash/bejne/fYekzbinXaTLYrg.html I hope this helps.

I teach my brother who's 3 years old to speak more words but instead trying he would continue to scream and shout to get what he want it upset me so much to the point i feel like my heart is exploding i don't know i this is my mom's mistake they didn't teach him how to speack and now i hold a responsibility to teach him because it bothers me knowing younger babies can speaker and he can only speak 8 words in total , this doesn't bother my mom which make me so angry they just keep laughing like an idiot when my brother doesn't speak or they will say they are too busy to bother his dad wont even teach him and our mom wont try her best this isn't even my own kid for God's sake.
