5 Tips for Concussion Treatment at Home

This video will review concussion symptoms and treatment updates. A concussion is a mild traumatic brain injury resulting from sudden impact or blow, causing temporary disruption of brain function. Common symptoms include headache, dizziness, difficulty concentrating, and emotional changes. Red flag symptoms like loss of consciousness or persistent vomiting warrant immediate medical evaluation due to potential serious complications.
Concussion symptoms are grouped into clinical profiles to aid targeted treatments. Resting strictly for a week after a concussion is not recommended; instead, relative rest is advised for the first two days, followed by gradual reintroduction of light physical activity. High cognitive activity and excessive screen time should be reduced in the first 48 hours, with gradual progression afterward. Personalized treatment plans based on individual profiles can expedite recovery. Returning to sports before concussion resolution increases the risk of repeat concussion and other musculoskeletal injuries.

I just got hit between the eyes with a good size tree log. Threw it in the truck bed and it bounced back, scraped my skin. I more than likely have Avery mild concussion due to the injury sight so I truly appreciate your help here. I’m ok so far thank God.

I've seen and heard research stating BHB ketone supplements and potentially in combination with pure MCT can be useful after head injury. It would ne interesting to cover this

Concussion is very individualized, I have had several minor concussions, from my own experience moving very slowly and careful as opposed to do nothing makes a difference. You are very right that you may be experiencing nausea, major headaches, but I’ve learned by recording your movements, get a lined note book or journal with the dates and write down to your best ability your symptoms and rate them, then you can keep track of each activity you do whether you are just trying to get something out of the fridge to putting on your shoes, it’s very difficult at first but you will have a record for yourself and your doctor so your healthcare provider, yourself or your caregivers can help provide support and a plan for recovery.

@@mrscrystalbear Same here. I can walk in flat easily, but once outside I feel dizzy. So wonder if I can get back to meditation and stretching. I have sciatica so for me the rest in bed was tough. I have the journal as well plus I got the app recommended in the hospital it's called HeadOn.

Sleeping is the only thing that has helped me. I got a concussion yesterday and have slept a total of 15 hours since and am finally starting to not feel nauseous and like my head is going to explode. I can actually watch videos on my phone now and am not so confused. Sleeping is all that is helping.

Hi bro, Dr. Jeffrey Peng Im'ma from (MIT) university freshmen. I've encountered a recent incident that has left me in need some advice . I wanted to share that I recently experienced a concussion 3 days ago, and unfortunately, it has occurred again in the same right side. I'm wondering, would a sudden sideways motorbike collision with a cycle at a speed of 30 km/hr., causing a forceful movement of my torso to lurch and my head in relative (lateral flexion) in the same area of the first concussion ,can it potentially cause damage to the previously concussed neurons ? very worried since i am difficulty speaking like finding right words and articulating fluently and even slight difficulty understanding words and its been 1 month no recovery? i initially have no symptoms after the incidence like nausea or dizziness , does it cause any permanent deficits or it is just temporary ? and Does this injury lead to the diminution of a handful of neurons?

This was pretty helpful, but you over-estimate by multitudes how much employers understand the need for support. Doctors are only just beginning to realize.
