When he stands at Jimmy’s podium, you get to really understand Rob Brydon is a short man with a big fucking head that makes you think he’s a lot taller

The spice girls puns is such a great moment in context, since it comes at the end of a Big Fat Quiz where Mel B was killing the fun the whole time.

think this is one of the biggest misconceptions i see about the quiz, Mel B was playing a character. agree with the straight man comment. Not as if she were trying to be a spoilsport

@@MisterItchy David Mitchell's already there doing that role significantly better. In that BFQ, all she does is act grumpy and prickly, like she doesn't want to be there, and doesn't want anyone else to make jokes or try to be entertaining.

The ironic thing is that spice girl's pun bit is the only time Mel B looks like she's happy to be there

Number One reason this show (and those like it) can't work in America is that American comedians can't stand to have the piss taken out of themselves and would get angry at the ribbing. Try to watch the very few episodes of American Taskmaster to see unfunny and awkward.

The best TV imo is always when the guests are just having fun. Like the old 70s Gong Show.

It would be very different. Rob might be too nice for this show and if he replaced Jimmy, viewers might feel like something's missing from the bfq like they know it.
