Hi Hoki, I agree as well. It was a nice video. I found this video in youtube very informative as well: All you need to know about persian carpets.

I love how honest you are about the ‘gimmicks’ that rug businesses try to use on a potential customer. I always tell our clients the same thing about that (we have a rug cleaning business and sometimes they want recommendations on where to buy). The only real sale is when the business is actually GOING OUT of business and not just moving it down the streets or opening up with a different name (that is a very common thing).

Thank you for your useful advice. I am usually wary of rug sellers because their prices are so exorbitant when you enter their stores and then they keep reducing as you feel you are being duped.Your honesty is a breath fresh air. Fine rug sellers should realize that customers do their research too.

We just bought ours and the dealer was just as you described. tulsa Oklahoma Ahmadys rugs.. we took it home and they promised to care for it for as long as we needed them to. They were amazing and if I get to Scottsdale, I will visit your establishment as well. I love my 2 persian rugs.

Thanks so much for this straightforward advice! I wish I lived in Arizona and could pay you all a visit. This was so helpful and you seem like such a friendly person.

If you're buying a rug for under a dining room table, how much larger than the table should it be?

It's recommended to add a minimum of 60 cm from every side of your table top, but I've made a test with a chair and wall and I like more 75-80 cm - if there is a cabinet, with doors - you have to add 120-150 cm from tabe to that furniture. Every rug should me least 20-30 cm minimum be far away from walls if possible ;) the there are design exceptions ;) hope that helps!

Sorry for the late response, 2.6 to 3 feet beyond the table is the rule of thumb, but pull the chairs back to where you can comfortably sit on them, and that outside area is the size you need

All of the above. We have rugs from every major rug-producing country in the world. :)

Every time he says 'rug' the subtitle writes 'drug'. It makes for a really funny text. Such as: The best drug for your happiness is Iranian drugs, etc"
