Deep Cleaning A $12,500 Tabriz Persian Rug | Deep Cleaned | Insider
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Ali Rouzati from Rouzati Rugs walks us through how he deep cleans a 1940s Sheikh Mashayekhi Tabriz rug. He hoses the rug down and applies shampoo. Then he uses a scrubber to agitate the fibers and an extractor to remove moisture and stains. He's able to deep clean the rug because it was made with vegetable dye, which does not run like chrome dye.

Hey, did I hear right? Was the term I heard "browning treatment"? Or, did I hear wrong. I'd like more details about that. Is there a generic (non-proprietary) perspective on what kind of chemistry is involved?

I binged watched these videos 😂
Regrettably, in the present times, only a handful of individuals are aware of the distinction between economy rugs like Oriental and Turkish ones, compared to Persian rugs which are true works of art, crafted with talent and organic materials. A rug cleaner who comprehends these differences and treats each type accordingly is indeed a valuable gem.
These persian rugs from Tabriz are truly gorgeous 😍 thank you for posting! The work that goes into creating them and maintaining them is amazing, well done for taking care of them - the level of detail and intricacies!! and history the carpets carry alone 👏

I understand everything is about efficiency but scrubber/buffers ruin the rug… this comes from experience…
With this cleaning, they have actually brought down the value of that carpet to 0. Hand woven wool carpets are never to be washed. water pouring over it kills it. Because the pure wool becomes curly and tangled at the bottom, and is never straight thread again, and that is detrimental for a hand woven rug. What they should have done was to to lay out the carpet face down vacuum from behind many many times and then with damp cloth wipe it maybe 10 times but never never soak a hand woven precious carpet in water.

“The value down to 0” 😂😂 what a ridiculous comment! Good luck getting rid of pet urine and heavy stains with that technique! It’s funny how random people KZread think they know everything without ever actually being involved in things professionally.

Hi Nilufer, I respect the sentiment behind your comment, and would like to educate you more on this topic. Some Persian rugs should not be deep washed - specifically those with chrome (chemical) dyes in the wool. However, there are certain Persian rugs that have much more stable vegetable dyes that will not run under a proper deep wash. Rest assured, based on our 40 years of experience in this industry, if we felt that the colors would run, and that the rug would be ruined from a deep wash, then we would not perform such a service. However, in this instance, we felt confident in going ahead with this procedure, and the rug turned out fabulous after the wash - as seen in the video! It really depends on a case-by-case basis, and that is why rugs should be brought to reputable businesses that have the expertise in dealing with a multitude of different rugs. Once again, thank you for your comment and if you have any further questions regarding this specific issue, feel free to reach out to us. Best regards - Rouzati Rugs

@@smartrideshare895 professionally!😂😂😂 I have a house, where I only lay hand woven pure wool carpets. Some are over hundred years old and all our root dyed. Every year for me it’s a three day job to have the carpets cleaned with two people helping. Yes if there is urine, and all kinds of that kind of stuff, they would have to wash it off, but I’ll say it again they wash off the value of the carpet as well. Because the texture is never the same after so much detergent, pressure and scrubbing. Yes it’s very interesting to see people in KZread where they make comments about things they don’t know. And I am 67 years old. I have been around long enough to know a few things.

@@rouzatirugs it’s not a matter of dye mixing. It’s a matter of the wool threads changing texture. A carpet expert would definitely look between the wool threads standing out if they wanted to buy a carpet and if the carpet has been exposed to water. The roots become curly and tangled. You cannot see the base of the rug and that is where the value of the carpet finishes. I was told this by an antique rug dealer. Sorry!
