@@boxlight2888 4 months on, what damage did you have? I was in a curb-free area but as I left I went over a bump and was still in slide mode, added a bit of power and did a full 180 with the rear wheel coming round to hit the curb. It hit quite hard - the impact was loud enough that I thought the tyre had burst. It hadn't, nor is there sidewall damage, but the rear wheel bounced up the curb. No doubt something is wrecked - going to get the alignment and lower control arms looked at.

Some people just try to avoid the obstacle at all costs, and slide into it. I've been in the situation of sliding with a curb coming up fast, got real lucky with good judgement and saw a lowered part of the curb and I aimed for that. Had to drive part way down the road on the side walk to someones drive to come off, much better than damage to the car.

My car contineously slipped in ice during a normal left turn at an intersection and hit the curb on the front right wheel. But at a very low speed probably 10 to 15 kmph. the wheel was full turned towards the left which positioned it parallel to the oncoming curb. it hit towards the sideways. Im wondering at what speed can we expect what level of damage.

I made a really small curve inwards on the wheel rim. They are steel rims so they just kinda deformed a little bit, and you have to sorta be looking for it to see it. Should I worry about this? I can't feel any difference at low speeds, but I haven't tried higher speeds yet. It's deformed by maybe a quarter of an inch.

People don’t shut up everyone wants to chat as a passenger and I’m sorry I can’t chat to you why’ll I’m trying to operate a vehicle. Plus then they start opening windows or messing with the radio or worse there directions are off like telling me to turn here at the last minute then getting mad at me cause I missed there turn they told me to take literally at the last minute. It’s still no excuse to hit a curb as the driver you shouldn’t be doing that but a car full of people and trying to paying attentions hard sometimes I’ll give him that

I think there may have been some bumper damage too but I'm not entirely sure. Curbs are the WORST!! Sometimes they're in the most inconvenient places and appear to just pop out of nowhere.

Wish I would've seen this sooner! Hit a curb trying to slide around a bend; bent my wheel and blew out the tire on the front left quadrant . I had to ride on a donut for an indefinite amount of time, say a couple of weeks until I could afford a replacement. Since then, when turning left at low speeds, say into a parking spot or turnaround, I'll get this occasional knocking noise as if something was slipping. Fast forward a year later, that ocasional knock has now become consistant and loud. It would happen when steering left, in the least bit, and is now evident when accelerating at all times. Haven't been too cognizant of my tire pressure either. My first impression was perhaps a bad axle, but am now led to believe it's due to bearing failure. As a "Subie-Newbie," I would greatly appreciate any advice on the matter. Many thanks!

It not the tyres fault tbh, when you hit ice patch or patch of compacted snow, there is nothing studless tyres can do. I had smack twice recently and seemingly got away scott free tho it felt and sounded rather brutal, but my subaru has quite fat tyres and there was also quite a bit of snow around the curb so it absorbed enough of it to not cause any damage.

I’m so glad I saw this video. About a month or so ago, I was driving and was about to miss the entrance on the expressway. I had to have been going about 40 or 50mph and tried to slow down, but I ended up hitting the curb on the entrance. I don’t think I went over the curb because I noticed that front my rim was scratched from the impact. I think the tire is fine, but I could double check. However, the main thing I noticed immediately after that when I continued driving onto the expressway, I heard that “woahwoahwoah” sound that you were making. And I hear it all the time now as I’m driving, and not just on the expressway. So I’m definitely gonna get my wheel bearing and all of those parts connected to it checked out soon. Luckily, it doesn’t appear that anything else is messed up with my car, and nothing has ever lit up on the gauge cluster, so I think I’m ok for now. But I’m definitely gonna look into that wheel bearing.

Hi. My 2008 GH mazda6 hit a kerb square on at 30+mph a few weeks ago. The crossmember shifted so we backed the nuts off and moved it forwards to get the wheel alignment dialled in. Right after this was done, the car wouldn't start in Park. He advised to replace the neutral switch. First I fitted some replacement wheels from the wrecker and it took me a week or so to get around to replacing the neutral switch and that fixed the problem (starts in Park now) but I did need to shimmy it a bit on the m6 mounting bolts to get it 'Right. The day after replacing the neutral switch, the engine cut out whilst sitting in traffic. It has happened twice now in a matter of days. Battery was replaced, that wasn't the cause. From research (google) I read the fuel cut out switch can trip but that would mean the car wouldn't run at all. After the engine dies, the car can be started and driven no problem until it happens again. Could it be fuel filter, the impact allowing particulates to cause problem? Or failed crank angle or cam angle sensors? I plugged in a quality Bosch OBD2 scanner and no codes have been triggered. Reading back over my words, the stalling only began after replacing the neutral switch??

Several years ago, I hit a curb on my 2000 accord coupe v6. the impact was the front drivers wheel, and I was probably going 35-40 mph. bent the lip on my front rim and nicked the rear, blew both tires. but everything balances and checks out okay. the curb (median) was in the shape of a U and i hit it at the lower right part of the U if you can picture it, and the the wheel was turned to the right trying to avoid the curb at the time of impact. i don't think i was on the brakes at impact. the front drivers wheel is pushed back about 3/4 an inch compared to passenger. I went to the Honda dealership and they diagnosed it as a bad spindle/knuckle and they wanted $800 dollars to fix. a little over 100 in that was parts. here i am now 3-4 years later still driving with the damage. I want to get it fixed soon. Will replacing the spindle/knuckle fix the issue or at least most of the issue with the wheel being pushed back? these accords had double wishbone in the front so I'm not sure what could have gotten damaged. any help would be appreciated by anybody, thanks!

Hey, it was rainy today and I couldn't see the left side of the road and unfortunately hit the edge of the "side walk" like barrier that divides both sides of the road. I almost hit it head on, but towards the edge of it, was able to swerve to the right, a bit late though and it did some damage to the alloy wheel(looks more of a moderate curb rush). No noise, car doesn't pull, but the steering wheel now needs to be about 1/4th of an inch to the left to drive straight. FYI - The speed was about 15-20MPH. Could this incident just threw alignment off, which can be re-aligned or there has to be a damage?

At times I do hear a single faint click when turning steering wheel to the left a bit while backing out from parking or turning from stop. I am thinking there could be a ball joint that got affected by not to the point where it is bad. I just drive like that, doesn't bother me.

Did this to my 04 mustang a couple months back on the right side... 2 weeks after I got new tires. The 2 tires shredded down a bit and I looked on the inside and it seemed ok but I probably didn’t look good enough since seeing this vid so thank you! But ever since December there has been a vibrating/rattle noise going over 70mph about on Highway usually when I had my foot off the gas. But now it’s gotten worse starting at lower speeds both on and off the peddle and when I turn it sound like my car could just brake at any moment. And I care for her a lot so yeah just putting it out there. Probably an idiot for not the replacing tires too...

So mad at myself because I never do this. The went up the curb I wasnt going fast either. I backed my truck up slowly. My steering is still straight, the trucks drives straight and doesnt go to the left or the right. I heard a noise as I was driving on one road coming home... what are your thoughts please let me know..

Honestly? My first thought is celebrate that you don't usually do this and don't beat yourself up. Second thought, investigate the noise by doing an engine off steering wiggle with two people (video coming soon- thank you for the idea) and inspect your tires or go to a tire shop to have them inspected. Ask first, but most will do this for free.

When I took it in to get it aligned and the tires balanced, the mechanics showed me that the tie rods on both sides were extremely worn. Shit I hit a curb sideways with my 86 Chrysler 5th avenue. It bent both front and rear rims, destroyed the lower control arm, bent the upper control arm, and bent the whole k frame and twisted the passengers side frame rail. Also twisted the bumper and kinked the radiator support.... I replaced the k frame and got new rims and its back on the road. At least the control arms and k frame and torsion bars are all one piece. So it made fixing it easier. But I believe it was that design that made the damage so bad.
