Greetings from Europe! I bought my 2023 CBR500R as my first bike because: 1) It's really cheap, so I don't feel guilty about my wallet for buying a new one instead of a used one 2) I'm 193cm tall and this bike is surprisingly very comfortable for me (it's very large considering it's low price) 3) I wanted to have bike with this great sporty (not boring) look despite that I'm using it just for a normal drive :D (without making high rpm's/high speeds) The 2-cyl 471cm3 engine is indeed not producing this "sexy" sound like of these 4-cyl engines that could caught more attention of girls ;) but that was the disadvantage I took into consideration before I bought it. I want to keep this bike for many years, the 2-cyl 471cm3 engine is very reliable unit, and well.. it's Honda, so nothing to worry about. Just change your engine oil regularly, if you want to ride it on a track then it's recommended to change oil after 1-2 days on a track, because new oil is very cheap, and new engines are very expensive ;) Despite lack of that "sexy" sound, it still have that great, sporty look so nothing to worry about. Plus you have Coffman exhaust so you improved that sound a little bit.

I have a 2022 cb 500f. I’ve put 11k on it. It’s a good platform to really learn how to push a motorcycle to its limits. Even tho it’s a little 500 I can keep up with anyone in the twistys. The best riders worked their way up gradually. If you go from a 250 to a thousand you will be missing some key skills you would of had it you progressed properly

Beautiful bike! I used to own a 2018 Ninja 400 and ran into the same issues you have when it comes to aftermarket mods. I found that once 2020 hit I started to see a lot more supporting mods such as quick shifters and off the shelf tunes. It just takes time since the bike is so new. Personally I found I could put a lot of older model 300/600 mods on the bike at they would fit the same so maybe look into that if you're looking to really modify the bike before parts specific to the 500r come out!

Thank you for the great comment, I will definitely have to look into other models & parts to see if everything lines up! Didn’t really think it thru till after I started looking for aftermarket parts. Makes sense tho since it’s a newer bike!

1:26 Is it actually an aftermarket exhaust or just a slip on? If the cat is still there then it wont sound that different, you will get a slightly deeper tone with a slip on only.

At 45 mpg you must be wringing the bikes neck all the time. It is supposed to get at least 70.

Looks like they brought out the new version of our bike for 2024 but I don't really care. I imagined that they would add a nice tft at some point. Not sure how I feel about the rear light on the new one though.

Thank you! I use Adams Foam wash & cannon for full wash job. Then I use crystal shine from Car Brite. If bugs are hard to get off the front panel I use a light compound and wax mixture together then follow by just wax/shine.

@matthewprout6996 it's a 471cc 2 cylinder, I wanted it for racing not commuting. They are comming out with these 450's and the class calls for up to 472cc to be legal for the class. Just figured the honda would be the better buy. Boy was I wrong. I almost bought one. Glad I did my research. You can get 65 to 70 ho out of a built ninja 400. At 422.5 cc

Standing next to a motorcycle and revving the shit out of it is born from childhood. Exhaust notes dont matter. Yeah I noticed this bike doesnt have the exhaust note weve been told we want. And I have to remind myself too. We all are subject to being persuasively coerced. Im thinking of buying this bike. That freaking red and black color scheme. And I def have to upgrade the exhaust. The stock one sounds so...wrong.

Your chain looks a little loose. Might be camera angle, but worth a check. Just FYI and someone with 45 years of riding and 28 different bikes from small dual sport bikes to 1700 CC cruisers to 1000 cc sport bikes. There is no direct correlation between size, cost and power of a bike and how much fun you are having. In fact, I just added a CB500x to my bike roster and I am having more fun on that than bikes that cost 4 times more and make 3 times the power. Consider this before you trade your sweet CBR500 in on something else..
