I classify this as a gentleman’s sport bike for us older riders past the hair on fire days. Does require ditching the factory exhaust that’s for sure but this is one of the most pleasant sport bikes I’ve ever ridden

Dear MotoJitsu. I just want to put out there that over the past summer I finally took the step and took the MSF course and acquired my Motorcycle permit. I plan on going to get my license soon. YOU HAVE BEEN A MASSIVE HELP. I have learned so much from you. Anytime I am having difficulty with a specific aspect of riding I come here and always find what I need. You're a fantastic teacher and I know I will be using you has a learning resource for a long time to come. I have had a TU250x for probably 2 months and have put 1,200 miles on it so far. It is a fantastic bike to commute to work on and great for doing half day trips around town. I can do Brown belt pretty easily as of now. I am defiantly wanting something bigger, considering a Ninja 650r, and this, do you have any other suggestions for me? Do you think I may as well spring for the 650. I see myself doing some really road trips in the future, would the 500 be suitable for that? THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU!!

I started with a CR80 dirtbike at 13 years old. Then I went to a YZ125, then a YZ250 by the time I was 16... Then from age 19 until my mid 30's , I owned a CR500. My last dirtbike was my KX500 that I sold last year. Anyway, I just never got around to getting my motorcycle license until last year. I took the two day MSF Course, and then bought my first motorcycle... A very rare in the US, 2008 Suzuki GSX650F that weighs 532 pounds wet. It has an 85 HP / 45 LB-FT, 656cc Inline-4 with a 6-speed manual. I had absolutely no problem with the weight. In fact, everything I've ridden since has felt light and so easy to ride. Well, one year and 9,000 and change miles later... No issues whatsoever! I never dropped my bike, knock on wood. I even ran an 11.844 @ 111.35 in the 1/4 mile on my first and only run during a busy summer day at the strip...I beat Cycle World's time of 11.94 @ 110.1 with their '08 GSX650F at the time. It's no 10 second sport bike obviously, but I hit 0-60 in 3.5 seconds with this bike, and it feels faster than my KX500 at all speeds, especially the faster you go. It has good power for a first m/c... Not sure if there's an advantage to owning a heavy first motorcycle? I truly believe it helped me learn to adapt quicker. My dirtbike experience definitely helped as well. Anyway, sorry for the long comment. I always enjoy your videos man! 👍

I forgot to mention... I'm easily flat-footed with my knees even slightly bent on my GSX650F. The seat height is 30.1 inches. I'm 5'10" 185 pounds with pretty long legs with my 33 & 1/4 inch inseam. I wonder if there are any stock bikes that would have me on my tiptoes with my weight & 33+" inseam? So far, I've been flat-footed on every motorcycle I've sat on.

We live an hour east of Toronto Ontario Canada and he has had no complaints of lack of power and handling has been enjoyable. He has done multiple 5-6 hour rides in a single day with minimal comfort complaints. Given it’s larger weight and tire size when compared to 300cc class bikes it feels more grown up but with only marginal increase in power and torque still seems manageable to the new rider.

When you consider the excellent fuel economy, long service intervals and high reliability, it evens out over time.

I had this 💩 Too heavy for the power it generates. has nothing but ABS. its beautiful, only. Needless to say Honda is less value for money compared to themost brands. KTM Duke 390 is better bike for a similar price tag

Disagree. The Honda is a ROAD bike NOT a race bike. Race bikes are great on a race track but are terrible on the road.

Disagree. KTM doesn’t have the same quality/reliability as Honda, is much less comfortable, and (imo) doesn’t look nearly as good. As an owner of a 2020 cbr500r, think of it more like a mini sport tourer. It’s a fantastic daily driver that has easily enough power for normal riding conditions, has fantastic fuel economy, and comfortable ergonomics.
