As I was saying, what I love about the xk is not a lot of " people have them. I'm a taxi driver so I'm all over the place. I might see about 3 xk:s a month. Compared to Corvettes (3 or 4 a day), Camaro's (10-20 a day), Mercedes (10-20 a day) , well you get my point..... Thanks for sharing ... Jaguar rules (but I think they rule because it's only a few select people that know they rule ,-)

Understand 100%, I had a Lotus Esprit V8, it like the Jag. is it’s uniqueness but for me (an old geezer) the Jag is sooo luxurious there is nothing better! For you, I understand you have recently moved on from the Jag., is this true?

Sold my 2007 4.2 with only 10,000 miles on 6 years ago and replaced it with Ftype 380S then Ftype 400 sport, and finally Ftype SVR. Now I own AM DB11. Still miss the old friend. I would say apart from IT and some of internal finishes on DB11 the XKR drives very similar and is equally as good. Jag should have modernised the rear in an evolutionary manner as Porsche do with 911. Great car and enjoy

I have a 5lt 2011 which is a dream to drive very long distance I drove to Gibraltar in 3 days and it was so good just the best

I have a 2013 XK Special Edition. This is just an incredible car. It's all beautiful lines and elegance - like listening to the smoothest jazz. The inside is very comfortable - I went from a BMW 528i that was just not that comfortable. The leather on the headliner and dash is just perfection. It's quiet in the cabin but you definitely hear that roar on start up and growl when driving. It's so smooth and the joy of driving it is unmatched.

I was debating on Porsche 911, MB SL 500 and BMW 6. I've own the late XJS COUPE and loved it. I miss the attention to detail Jag gives you. So far it seems like this XK is a pretty good build. I'm going back to Jag.

I had an XJS before buying the first model XK8. Now had 4 XKR,S. My latest is the 2015 XKR dynamic R with the sell off black pack for the last few that were made. I was going to buy the F type. But did not like the cockpit, too small and cramped, uncomfortable, and could not get my golf clubs and trolley in the boot. So stayed with my beautiful XKR.

sold my xkr for a v12 vantage, love the aston but the xkr is still missed

I also fancied an Aston, but have now had my 2005 XKR 4.2 Supercharged Coupe for about 10 years and I still love every day of driving it and keeping it in good condition. There is something about them, as a 2 seater for long distance European travel. On this car I prefer the more subtle standard exhaust, maybe because I went through that phase of noisy exhaust years ago with other sports cars. With standard exhaust I am getting 26 mpg at worst and over 30mpg on a European trip.

Still got it? I've had several modern Astons, from new - a 2002 V12 Vanquish, a DB9 Volante and DBS coupe. Plus some older ones - 1955 DB2/4, 1984 V8, 1992 Virage, and 1999 V8 Volante LWB. Got fed up with the servicing costs; 6,000 mile service intervals; being concerned about where to park it; the hard(ish) ride, uncomfortable seats and plastic chrome dashes (on later cars). Then fed up with the breakdowns - Vanquish gearbox and brakes, DB9 brakes and DBS electrics. Now I have a 2012 XK Portfolio Convertible with Elite exhaust which is utterly reliable, serviced by my local Jag specialist and drives and sounds superb... ...and it was designed by the same guy who designed the Vanquish!

I also have a GSX-R and again like old Ronald , I'm loving that too .

Shaun - I had an identical one in pearl grey, but with ivory leather. CV59 GDK. Tremendous car, Kept it for 7 years, traded in for an XFR, same engine and performance but more practical, but less pretty than the XKR. This vid just popped up on my YT feed today👍

Yes it's nice here, Wife wants to move back home to Kentucky, it's very much having Winter... but she may convince me as I have an Old Jag in a garage that's been sitting since I got Married for 23 years... I started a restoration on it (e-type 12 COUPE) before I was married, so it's been sitting... but when I watch a few Jag KZread's, I can here it Calling me!..keep on enjoying it.... wish they keep making the XK..

I’ve had 5 XK’s now. My present one which I’ve had 5 years is the XKR dynamic R in Stratus grey. It has the black pack with most of the extras on the ‘S’. Which were added to the sell off version in 2015. So one of the last off the line. It is an absolutely fantastic car. I love it, hence keeping it five years. I toyed with the idea of changing to the ‘F’ type. Had a test drive, but did not like it, too small inside and could not get the clubs and trolley in the boot. Only done 20,000 miles to date and just changed the tyres. Have no intention to sell this beauty.

What happened to the audio quality when you are in the car? Suddenly it's impossible to hear what you are saying?

2009 was the first year with the 5.0 correct? I know they are known for some issues, like water pump and some other stuff. What’s your experience been like? I’m wondering if they worked out the issues by the 2011 facelifted model year. I’d like to buy one of the 5.0 models but only if can be made to be reliable.

Correct, I have had the water pump changed but other than that only minor issues. Generally been faultless.

@@davidrobson9011 maybe in Europe but not in the USA! My 09 has112 miles on it with no issues at all! This car is amazing I installed a smaller pulley and cat back exhaust that sounds like a killer cat! I drive this car really hard and drive it every day to work 72 miles one way

The car’s great! I’ve had one 3 years. It’s a dream drive in any situation. Sad though, to see such sloppy, one-handed steering and posture at the wheel. The car deserves better handling.

I sold my 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix in hopes of using that for purchasing a nicely used XKR. I must have read the information wrong because after I sold my Pontiac for $2000 I thought I could go get the jag. Turns out the XKR is not $2000 used but more like $20,000 plus. So now all I have is a bicycle to get to work. Holy Hell!

@@jeffpollard7304 the XK value plummeted like a rock - unlike its rivals like the Aston or low models Ferrari used - my pal bought one for £78k - can you believe he would do that ? Being unpopular in looks the car quickly halved in value / so now it might actually be a good deal - plenty for less than £10k on the used market / but for me / the stretched proportions look silly / the f type compounds my feelings further by showing better design
