Haha great video bro I love it, and I know you love the car dearly, idk why everytime someone does a 5 things they hate video, they can never understand that these are nitpicky things and its hard to come up with 5 things for really nice cars such as this. It's like you made a video on 5 things you hate about their mother or something lol 😂But great job with the video on the car sir beautiful spec, our buddy cgarnerspeed252 also has a grandsport vette 2017

That is a bad ass GS. My friend's husband bought one last year. She says he bought it as an investment. Literally had it delivered to his house by enclosed trailer then parked it ever since. It still has 6 miles on it. I don't understand it. That car is made to be driven. I try explaining to her that between inflation, the cost of insurance, and the interest he's paying on the loan he's probably never going to make money on it. Might has well enjoy it!!!

Great sports car. The tire to fender gap, is there for a reason. Some people take them on road courses , overdrive them and hit the apexes or apron of turn , or worse, go off the track, it might need a few inches of travel so you don’t bottom out , or tear the suspension up. If you watch some track videos on certain tracks the things are so fast they become airborne so again, unless you own a race team , can afford a new suspension or backup car , your covered. In addition the suspension gives the car a good ride with the design if you’re on public roads, and still offers great handling. I would NOT change anything on it , if you lower it , you alter too many dynamics with the magnetic suspension , sensors, etc. As a freelance writer I’ve reviewed and obtained several Vettes from GM on a regular basis, they come with the best overall combination of suspension design, handling, and ride quality of any car near its price point , so if most of your driving is on public roads, or even run road courses on weekends sometimes, I would not touch it.

  • @FrontSeatDriver

Front Seat Driver Good move. Remember a Ferrari has smaller tire fender gaps and less suspension travel but that doesn’t mean they necessarily win on track day, and if they go off the track or get airborne they go home on the trailer while we laugh and drive back home.

I am using GM weatherstripping lubricant on my targa top (C6) weatherstripping. It is insanely expensive but works well and you only need a tiny bit each year. On the other hand, dielectric grease for the moving metal parts is cheap and recommended. Lubricating the top is a regular maintenance activity which I think many owners overlook.

  • @gen1c8rs88

    6 жыл бұрын

Front Seat Driver Yes it is. Front tires 25.8 inches vs 26.5 inches in diameter, rear tires 26.6 inches vs 27.6 inches in diameter. Installing the tires will subtract half the distance then lowering the car back to stock ride height will subtract the other half. The only issue will be recalibrating the read out of the speed and distance traveled.

Dude... your car looks totally sweet. Get over the 4 finger thing. And that message about the rear axle was probably just a software glitch. I have a C7 stingray, and I've seen a couple of similar strange messages. I bought a new C5 in 1999, which had much worse software issues in it. Still loved the car, but one night it did mess up pretty good. I was at a strip club, and when I came out and put the key in the ignition... the seat would not move back to the normal position. It was 2:00am in the morning. I couldn't move it at all, and couldn't really push the clutch pedal to the floor either. Couldn't reach with the seat all the way back. The steering column was all the way in also. I messed with it for awhile... but ended up having to pop the hood, and disconnect the positive side of the battery for 30 seconds to reboot the computer. After that , it worked again.

Rumours are that the C8 will have hydraulics similar to more expensive exotic cars allowing you to lift the nose a few inches when going into driveways. The point of a Corvette is a performance car that u can have a connection to. Im glad ur a car person and are fortunate to enjoy the corvette. Idk if I can drive stick or not but it will be worlds better experience to do so! Also those cars u mentioned are Dual Clutch transmission vehicles. I know ur vette has paddle shifters but the shifts are slow in manual mode. I've driven one. The reason those companies make auto cars is because they are #1 more accessible and easier to drive and #2 quicker in a straight line. And in some instances like the PDK quicker. But is that worthy in the roads?? But for those of us who want to have the ultimate connection to our vehicles I wld recommend the manual. It's funny you even know a band named smashmouth. And WTF is a swashbuckler. Are you 13? I listen to old Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth etc. Don't try and convert me to your 13 year old boy band music.

I've got one too, not the heritage edition though. Hate is too strong, minor dislikes perhaps? These issues are very minor, yes. The low profile, so it takes careful attention for any slopes, the rear spacing is okay for me. Take care, J

JG Cano You are 100% correct. These are very minor issues. A few channels I like do videos of 5 Things I love/ 5 Things I Hate on their cars. I thought it'd be fun to do. The 5 Things I LOVE has way less views unfortunately.

Im debating between a vette and the Alfa Romeo 4RC

OrganicChemistry2 I love the 4c! Before I got the Vette I looked at Alfa Romeo and also Porsche. I picked the Vette over Alfa partially because of the sound of the exhaust. And I believe the Vette is a little faster. But I am sure you will be happy either way. If you get the Alfa, let me know how you like it.

Front Seat Driver If for whatever reason I chose a vette and didnt care too much for the sound or power, which would you recommend? The Stingray or the Grand Sport?

  • @FrontSeatDriver

OrganicChemistry2 I recommend the GS. I think it's the best of the Stingray and Z06 combined. It has the engine of the Stingray with the body of the Z06. And I think the suspension in the GS and Z06 are the same. It's been said it's the perfect track car of the 3. The Z06 tends to have too much power and can get away from you but the GS is just right. I know a guy from Instagram that tracks a ZR1 and just bought a GS to drive. He chose that over the Z06. You can also get some REALLY good deals right now on the GS. There's a brand new 2017 in Burleson, TX at Lynn Smith Chevrolet for $20 k off of sticker.

I dont know why your videos get so many dislikes but everything you said is right considering I tried driving corvette last month. the paddle shifter is a not like huracan and that's a con. I agree with the front lip being so low. I scraped the vette on the 1st day i drove it.

Front Seat Driver don’t mind the dislikes it’s people who are jealous of what you have and angry that you would even be “pretentious” enough to complain about something they will never be able to acquire. KZread is starting to get a little cluttered with car you tubers though, good luck building your channel and congrats I love the grand sport. I almost got that over my Hellcat.

Thats how american sport cars can compete with germans over the price. Or u go pay 100% extra and and get porsche turbo with the german built quality. The corvette is fine car for 5 yrs time. Germans can easily stay rival for 10yrs with no complains.
