5 Things I HATE About 6th Gen Camaros

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Thinking about buying a 6th Gen Camaro? Well please consider these 5 points before you buy! Having had owned both a 6th gen Mustang and now a 6th gen Camaro, this video will go over some advantages that the Mustang has and some things you didn't know (or maybe weren't aware of) that the Camaro has. In particular, this is a video dedicated to the 2016+ Camaro SS paired with the 8 spd automatic transmission.

Honestly, if you like Camaros better than Mustangs or Mustangs better than Camaros, we can all agree that our cars are better than Priuses. We can all agree our cars are better than EVOs. Camaro and Mustangs have been a rivalry since the beginning of muscle/pony cars. It only natters on which one YOU like. If you like Mustangs better than Camaros, I am not going to be all angry and saying that Camaros are better! Everyone likes what they like and I personally choose Camaros because of my PERSONAL OPINION on how it looks and sounds. The performance of both have always teetered, and right now, the ZL1 performs better than the GT350R. But I have a feeling that the Mustangs are going to come back with something better than the Camaros in 2019-2020.

GM's "Active Fuel Management" (originally dubbed "Displacement On Demand") actually debuted in 2005. It started with the Pontiac Grand Prix GXP and its 5.3 LS4 V8, as well as the Chevrolet Trailblazer and GMC Envoy with the 5.3 Vortec V8. AFM/DOD via the LS4 then made its way into the Chevrolet Impala SS and Monte Carlo SS, as well as the Buick Lacrosse Super.

If you don't drive around like an idiot with your seat reclined back like a pimp from the hood then there are no viability issues. People seem to forget that proper seating is sitting upright with your head against the headrest. Do that and there is no issue.

Just get a charger man. Best experience and bang for your buck. Everyone hates on it, but come on, having four doors is very helpful. Luggage wise, groceries, and mainly...the capability of fitting four grown adults within its cab. It's fast, sleek, curvy, better window visibility and you could get a 4 wheel drive for those of you who live in the north. Very helpful for anti slip and snow. In my opinion, it's an innovative way of pushing forward with a classic style. Yes they aren't the best at everything, but if you got a 5.7L R/T, you could have some fun while being practical and thinking ahead when your wife wants kids and a four door. Just my opinion of course.

SIDE NOTE: If you prefer the 2014 gen 2 body and rear, but love the 2015 fascia, you can actually switch some parts around because DODGE had made some parts interchangeable on accident to save cost of building completely new bodies when the 2015 gen 3 was being made. So how can you do This? Simple... If you're like me and want the 2014 boxier, more retro, rear end, then make sure you have the 2011-2014 model...obviously. Then install OEM 2015 gen 3 fenders, hood, front fascia+lights. and all. It actually fits perfectly. So you have the best of both worlds. In the words of Todd Howard....."It Just Works."

When it comes to trucks I will pick ford all day and there is no comparison. Same for picking between a Shelby GT 500 and a ZL1, but between a GT and SS trim I have to give it to chevy. The interior was nicer, ride was smoother, and there was so much more power. The camaro ss blows the mustang out of the water in just about every performance category. I drove both and really wanted to love the mustang because I had such a great experience owning my F-150 for over 300k miles, but ultimately went with a camaro and I am happy with it so far. Only been a week though lol

I've had mine two years. Purchased it new. First thing that went wrong was the trunk latch. Pops up on the display and will not go away. Dealership replaced it. Second issue I had the front end was out of alignment. On multiple occasions now the car will not recognize the key for certain periods of time. You have to flush the transmission fluid every 10,000 Mi or you get a deathly shimmy in it when trying to accelerate. Temperature gauge went out. Replaced it. Obviously wasn't the problem. Temperature gauge went out again, replaced the thermostat and the temperature gauge which requires intake removal. Nothing seems to solve this problem. I have no temperature gauge. It's 103° I have no air conditioner unless I disconnect the battery terminal for a few moments. Mind you I do this every single day!

I sat in one for the first time yesterday. I hated the experience. Why? Because I had such high hopes. I hoped I would get over these “small” things. I felt so ashamed for even wanting a camaro at that point. There were a few mustangs on the lot and I got to sit in them. I am not much of a stang guy, partially because my friend is a stang driver and I’m a camaro type of guy. However, the feeling I got in the stang felt so much better. The visibility was better, the space, and yeah I not a fan of the style, but the practicality sold me on it. I really don’t know if I will buy a camaro anymore. It’s a sad day. Maybe a stang will do.

    1) Move styling forward to emulate the 2 gen F-bodies, maybe? Just be less "old school" and more contemporary stylish, ditch the hard edges, and give us some curves. 2) AWD option for all engines (Way to sneak in a stab at the GT-R). 3) Revise styling for better outward visibility. Any ADAS should be for situational awareness first, as well. 4) Hatchback like the 3rd and 4th gen cars. 5) No excuses interior.

My first car is a 2011 Camaro and Jesus Christ, I don't know why people make such a big deal about the visibility. I will confess that the first time I drove it a was like "holy crap!" but it was like a good "holy crap" because I understood what I was driving and that it looked like that by design, and besides I got used to it by the third time I drove it. You shouldn't go Into a sports/muscle car and expect to have the visibility of a Toyota Sienna... Chevrolet actually asked Camaro owners when they were designing the 6th generation Camaro's if the consumers wanted them to improve the visibility and the owners said "No, because that makes the car feel more unique". In reality the owners who complain about the visibility are actually in the minority.

Yeah the 6th gens are worse than most econoboxes but it's not even that bad. Wanna drive a car that looks and feels like a sports car? Then you have to put up with minor visibility issues. People overreact to it so much I almost didn't even both test driving the car to see if I'd like it cause people bitch about visibility so much. I test drove the car and was like waaait, this is actually fine. Now I'm the proud owner of a 6th gen.

I actually like the visability and I don't really have problems with it unless I'm driving in a very hilly and curvy road. also there is only 2 things i don't like about my 6th gen and that is the back seat, and the 6 speed locks out 2nd and 3rd gear when going from a stop for fuel econ.

Razer Dash even if it were dragging the other 4 pistions, which it's not, it would not cause any wear and tear. That's literally the same thing as if it were in v8. They all have oil for lubrication. It's not like the oil just suddenly disappears. But no the other 4 pistons are stationary until it kicks back into v8. Otherwise it would still sound like a v8 when the 4 cyl mode kicked in

I've owned everybody style of the Camaro thru the years from my 67,72,76,83,88 & the biggest my 91( ps I'm not old either, I just like muscle cars). My favorites were my 67 & 91. Never will I buy what chevy considers a Camaro from the re-launched small wedge of the 2000's to the over priced chopped plastic car the Camaro is now. Chevy made the side mirrors to small ,the roof is too chopped looking to fit the per portion of the rest of the car,as video says what trunk or backseat? For the price of a decent engine size & trim I'll save 40,000 & buy another souped up 427 with upgrades to modernize the brakes, interior ect and have a real " muscle car" with leg room front & rear with a huge trunk. Great video

If you think your Camaro's back seats are small, take a look at a Gen 1 Jaguar XK8/XKR. I'm 5'9" and In order to fit in the back "seat" of my car I have to sit sideways with my legs across the seats and folded and I have to sit straight up. Jaguar put the rear "seats" in the XK for so it could be classified as a four seat vehicle to save on insurance costs, in fact when i had it insured its insured as a luxury convertible rather than a sports car. And no, the room is no better in the coupe version. The "seats" in my XKR are really just a luxurious, Cranberry Red, leather grocery self, and in my opinion, while I do think my sea of red leather is gorgeous, but in all honesty, Jaguar should have just made the Gen 1 XK8/XKR a two seater and save about 60 lbs because trust me, this car needs all the weight savings it can get with a curb weight of 4,021 lbs in the convertible and 3,785 in the coupe. Maybe it would help with the 0-60 time of 5.3 seconds from the factory. And it would save a little bit of gas too, and trust me the gas mileage isn't exactly good on this car, I'm averaging around 15 MPG in mine. Well, anyways, I'm done with my rant, have a nice day.

But still I managed to find 1969 to 1972 Camaro's for sale with prices ranging from just 2 grand to 8 grand online.

I wouldn't call a charger or or even a Challenger a sports car. Or even in the league of a 6th gen Camaro. They put the new Camaro up against the M4. It's a true sports car. Dodge don't have the money to develop a true sports car. They been selling the same car for over a decade. Just throwing more power under the hood. (Shrug), there's a car for everybody though right?

Too bad not enough people cared when they went to a dealership. With respect to what a charger or Challenger can do I would call them the last two traditional muscle cars. Let's be honest bro. Who's taking a charger or Challenger to the track fresh out the box from a dealership? Who would even suggest that? Would you??

That being said, most of the “bad” things about the camaro are really nit picky. You would 100% be fine with them. The rear seats are for insurance companies. Insurance is not as high for 4 seaters compared to 2 seaters. And if you're a young driver companies are already going to charge an arm and a leg to cover you and if you get a 2 seater sport car forget about it the pricing is going to be insane.
