5 Things $0.01 Can Get Around the World

I traveled from North Korea to Pakistan to show you what you can buy with $0.01 (a penny). I hope this video inspires you that traveling doesn't have to be that expensive - there are MANY ways to experience the world on a tight budget! Make sure to keep collecting those coins, because even if they can't buy much in your home country, they might be really useful around the world!
If you don't mind giving some feedback - do you enjoy this kind of budget content? Should I do more videos like this? Please let me know in the comments below!

When I was a kid (back in the 80s) the neighborhood grocery store had a .01¢ gumball machine. I could turn in an empty pop can at the store for .05¢, buy a Pixie Stick for .03¢ and 2 gumballs from the machine.

In Canada we round up or down now. Pennies are a thing of the past. I'm 64 but when I was a kid our parents would give us a quarter to go down to the corner grocery store, (family run; usually the family lived upstairs). It would be our weekend treat on summer holidays while visiting our grandparents small town house. For that almighty quarter we'd buy the small paper bag (half a lunch bag size, FULL of "Penny Candy" mojos 5 for a penny, big-marble sized jaw breakers 2c, big jelly candies 1c, bazooka gum 1c with a comic inside.....sweet tarts, 5c a roll, candy necklace 5c. Those were some of the last "best childhoods" they talk about. The last half of the 1960's when I'd have been 6. One last thought. Enjoy the small fun times, enjoy looking in a mirror once or twice a day only, to appreciate your youthfulness. Walk a lot. Make lasting friendships if you can. OK, over and out !!! ❤❤❤

Back in 2014 when I was 7, I remember going to Caracas once and a small island called margarita in Venezuela, I remember where me and my family would stand up waiting for wad loads of bolivars to be given to us at an exchange stall outside our hotel room. I even remember seeing children on the street making paper planes and origami from their currency . sadly, there is no way I'm ever going back to Venezuela even though i love the beautiful scenery, food and culture due to the political unrest over there. suprisingly, in my nation of trinidad, many venes flock to our island in search of better lives with unestimated numbers possibly in the thousands. I just hope Venezuela can one day be the enchanting nation i once remembered.

I wish transportation in the Philippines were as cheap as North Korea. Also the ₱1 is like the $0.01 there, there's absolutely nothing to buy with it, 15 years ago, it can buy 1 mentos candy, now it's worthless. Inflation is real, man. ₱5 coin can give you 3 candies not 5. it's a shame because the face in the ₱1 coin is Jose Rizal, our national hero.

The USA challenge failed because bulk items doesn't count. In my country Bulgaria many years ago was possible to by one candy 🍬 for 1 penny.

🤔 Or u could go 2 Brazil for the world cup and pay $48 for a large cheese pizza that only cost $2 to make at the most, what a rip. The federal reserve has the world in the palm of there hand because people are trapped in that delusion, just like religion (both jokes people believe) I'm the universe and need 2 bow down 2 NOTHING ! get it probably not 🤣 GL and don't end up Obtuse ... I know that you’re saying this from an American perspective, but for an Indonesian, traveling is quite expensive. If anything, I could travel around my country to get the cheapest goods, not that I’ve been to every island in Indonesia.

Meanwhile in Germany… you need pennies if you want to buy stamps and the post office is closed.Of course you can only pay cash and if you put too much money in, it gives you back stamps instead of money. Yes, one penny stamps 🙄🤣 At least in our small town. I don’t know about the capital cities 🤷🏻‍♀
