According to Jesus, peace in the church is not the absence of conflict. Peace is the power of the Spirit empowering the church as it carries out its five theological tasks: polemics (refuting error with truth), exegetical teaching (deriving preaching and practice from clear texts), catechetical instruction ( maturing newer believers to maturity) and evangelism and ethics.
