5-String Bluegrass Banjo Lesson: "Wabash Cannonball"

Музыка

Hear this tune played with guitar rhythm backup (slow, medium, fast) starting at 10:00. Guitar chords (which also work for any
other instrument capable of making a chord) are provided on-screen.
This is an instructional tutorial 5-string bluegrass banjo lesson teaching my own version of the popular Country/Bluegrass tune "Wabash Cannonball." As early as 1882, sheet music titled "The Great Rock Island Route" was credited to J. A. Roff. A rewritten version by William Kindt appeared in 1904 under the title "Wabash Cannon Ball." (Wikipedia)
On this video I teach the tune lick by lick, measure by measure, using on-screen tablature, then I put it together -- slowly at first, then faster toward the end, adding rhythm guitar audio overlay and on-screen chord prompts. A free downloadable tab sheet (PDF) and play-along tracks (MP3) for this tune, as well as many others is available at my website, www.littlerockbanjo.com.
Hope you enjoy.

I always come here looking to learn a song, but half the time I end up just listening to Bill play the banjo because it's just really enjoyable.

Hello Bill - I really like these instructions! They are easy to understand. This enables you to learn the song very quickly. Is it possible to publish an instruction for "end of a dream" (Eric Weissberg)? I've also been looking for one instruction for "Washington Square" on 5 strings, since a long time. So far I have not been able to find anything on the Internet.
