Very helpful. Thank you! 😊
Great advice thanks heaps.
And I noticed another great tip which you didn’t even mention! Using a warping board to hook onto, instead of individual peg(s) clamped to a table. This could be very useful especially for a longish warp ie longer than a dining table! Thanks.
Thank you Kelly. Very helpful.

Thanks so much for this video. I have a backstrap loom right now, and I had some 3D heddles printed for me by my brother. My plan was to make sort of a hybrid rigid headle backstrap loom. I'm working right now on a project on my backstrap loom, I'm still really new to it but did create a project with cotton already. I had no problems with that project. I got out some old yarn that I thought was a mercerized cotton, but it didn't have a label. It was annoying to warp. And then I realized it was tencel. As I'm working on it I can't open the sheds. I did 250 string pedals and now I feel like I need to scrap the whole thing. I wonder if putting them in the rigid heddles will help with decreasing the fuzziness and let me open the sheds easier? Or should I just take it all out and replace the tensel with cotton? I know this is not about warping a backstrap loom, but I hope that you could help me.

I've used tencel extensively and while it can tend to fluff up on the loom a little, I haven't found it to be problematically sticky, my main problem with it has been warp breakages. Something you could try is misting the warp with water (a spray bottle would work well) as you weave, making it slightly damp. Apparently that can help to tame tencel.

I have a ❤question, my loom Chain is very long ,how can i roll it regular and stabil and strong in my wäre loom
@KellyCasanova

For a long warp it's really important to pack the back beam for the whole warp, a roll of thick brown craft paper would be ideal.
Ive just ordered a rigid heddle loom, i already have a table and floor loom , my question is do you warp from the cone ?
@KellyCasanova
8 ай бұрын
Yes, you can warp from the cone, if you're using coned yarn.
I’m a beginner so please excuse silly questions! I don’t have a long enough table, yet want to warp for a long scarf, is there a way round this? Everyone I see seems to have huge tables in large spaces!
@KellyCasanova

Trust me, a lot of weavers have small spaces, not everyone has the luxury of a big table. There are a number of ways you can warp in a small space. If you have a warping board, you can use that to make a longer warp while still direct warping. You can use coat racks or additional pegs set up and clamped to keep them in place. If your loom has a stand, you can leave the loom on that and set up your peg/pegs where you need to and move the loom closer as you roll on the warp.
You mention leaving a link below to the calculation sheet. Where do I find links when watching your videos? I never seem to find them 🤔

Im new to ridid heddle weaving. What if I don't have a table to clamp the loom and the warping peg. I suppose I'll have to figure it out.

Do you have a stand? You can warp from a stand. I know some weavers who don't have a table or space in their small apartments, they will go to a public space like a library to warp.

@KellyCasanova no stand I just bought the loom. It's a ashford sampleit 16. I was think of using a step ladder to clamp the peg to and just moving it closer or further away depending on the project.
@KellyCasanova

@@dandobrowolski5818 Yep, that could work, just 2 things to consider. 1 - you need a stable, sturdy surface for both the loom and the peg. 2 - the peg needs to be positioned at approximately the same height as the back cloth beam so that your warp is fairly straight horizontally as you wind it around the peg.
@dandobrowolski5818

@KellyCasanova yeah I think I can do that....I do have a small table to sit the loom on....so it should work out. I'm pretty mechanically inclined...and I'm reasonably good at problem solving....so I expect If I run into any snags I'll make it work. Thanks for your advice.

@@dandobrowolski5818 No worries, all the best with it!
I'm still waiting for a Math Person to make me an algebraic formula for making a Morse Code message using only Fibonacci numbers...it currently takes me half an hour, a graph sheet and a pencil with a really good eraser for each pattern. Sigh.
I am guessing the math nerds (meeee) probably struggle to visualize, so not being a math person may not be a bad thing here. 😊
