5 Reasons Why Shimla Kinnaur Kaza Road | Why travel to Spiti Valley from Shimla - Kinnaur Side

In this video today, let us look at 5 Reasons to Travel Spiti Valley from Shimla Route in 2023 or plan a road trip to Spiti from Shimla side.
We all know that two routes exist to travel to Spiti Valley. The one direction takes you to Kaza, Spiti from Shimla - Kinnaur side while the other road goes from Manali - Rohtang Pass to Spiti. There are certain definitive advantages as well as disadvantages of both these beautiful routes. It is a hard choice, but some of the reasons mentioned in this article will help you make the right choice based on your preferences.

Secondly I just a day to stay in Leh for adapting weather . By flight I be landing so less time to adapt ,After a day Next day to nubra , is it safe ? Request you to let me know

  • @discoverwithdheeraj

    @discoverwithdheeraj

    3 жыл бұрын

    Babita, generally you should check with your doctor before taking any medicine and Diamox is a sulpha drug and can have allergic reactions. When I have travelled and used it after doctor's consultation, I start them about 36 hrs before my travel. Also, please note that it does not cure AMS just helps in acclimatization and kindly, consult the doctor. Meanwhile, you can watch my videos on various non-medicine tips for AMS. You should be spending at least 36 hrs, which is more like 2 nights in Leh before going to Nubra Valley.

    Buddy people are traveling and yes there are risks when you travel in monoon and rains or I shall say anytime in mountains. Landslides are part of their lifes. So you need to evaluate the risk because rains make such things more probable. Check the weather forecast for next couple of days and take the call based on it.

    Deepesh, generally monsoon hits badly in August as per the pattern usually. So, I still consider first three weeks of July to be non-monsoon with intermittent rains. But again, we are mere mortals with less control on the weather. Just keep an eye on weather report and in case the predictions are for heavy rains on your travel days then avoid else you shall be OK in that time window. August is what I most fear.

    @@discoverwithdheeraj Thank you for your valuable response. Yes, I have been to Naddi (HP) once with my daughter in the month of Dec’21. Weather was extremely cold but she was comfortable and enjoyed a lot. We have also checked with her treating doctor and he gave us a good to go signal. I do understand the AMS factor in Spiti and Leh as I have been there in 2013 and 2019 along with my wife. That’s the reason we are planning to start our trip from Shimla side and taking enough days in hand so that we can make our trip comfortable and convenient. And also we have decided as a precaution if we found any difficulty in any point of time, we will stay there only and cancel the rest of our journey. I have seen your what all to carry video and made a list accordingly and few extra things as per our requirement. Lastly, my main concern is my Hyundai I10 car. I have almost covered every tourist place in HP in last 12yrs and Spiti too. But never crossed any pass. So, this will be my first full circuit drive. Also I need an itinerary. Amit bhai, if you have been to Ladakh then expect similar but small things in Spiti like mountains, valleys, lakes, all are smaller in Spiti than Ladakh but similar in landscape. It is monsoon time in general up there in North and in some parts of Manali - Chandigarh Highway and Kinnaur Valley roads you might need to face monsoon hassles like landslides, rock fall, road closures, etc.. but once you get closer to Spiti Valley, then Spiti being rain shadow region is least affected by monsoon rains. Landslides or slush or road blocks are pretty common in the month of monsoons but these landslides are cleared in a day or two unless there is a very major one. Again there are ALWAYS risks of traveling in mountains in the rainy season. No one can predict anything but it is a well known fact about the risks of traveling in mountains Having said that, rains does reach Spiti nowadays but in general, it is overcast days or in form of light drizzles. I will suggest you go thru my video on 10 Tips for a Trip to Spiti Valley in August or Monsoons at the link: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pmtqyI-pn7KuqbQ.html
