Great video! Very rare to see lamb skin chosen over caviar. I have a lamb skin o case that I’ve been terrified to use. I’m happy to hear it’s durable. It does feel very soft and luxurious.

The beuty of lambskin! Great video. My only Chanel bag is a lambskin from 1987 and has a little more wear than yours, but still looks amazing! I use a shoe polishing cloth whenever I scratch it and it works fine, and I also steam the creases, but that's another story...

@@bargain.hunting.blonde I use Saphir leather polish on my black Chanel lambskin too and it works like a charm! Just a thorough buff afterward with a microfiber cloth, a little dermo protect, and the bag really shines. I've also given my vintage Chanel lambskin classic flap 3 series a light steam in a few places (inside lip and alongside the back bottom edge), and the creases definitely seemed less pronounced. The bag was protected and stuffed with a few soft hand towels and then left to dry for most the day. I was a little hesitant during the first go-around so I may give it another light pass. Good luck!

I think lambskin does age very well and scratches you see on new lambskin will fade over time when the oils of your hands penetrate and condition your bags. That said it is super scary to see the scratches happen and some of us are just too impatient to wait for it to get better. 😂 But your points are spot on and I totally agree, the touch and smell of lambskin is like no other! TFS! 🥰🥰🥰

Yes lambskin ages very well. One of my Instagram followers made a great point- a vintage slightly beat up lambskin bag looks indefinitely better than a vintage slightly beat up caviar bag and I am sure it’s something to do with the age of the bag and how the leather wears! Thank you for watching 😊

Totally agree with you about lambskin. It's much more luxurious. After all for bags this expensive I'm not going to wear them shopping or to the gym. They are for special occasions and high days.

Caviar can scratch too, and it won't rub out. The new medium Kelly has a soft caviar; I was so surprised at the difference when I received it from the same SA in NY who sold me my black caviar classic flap. Seriously thinking about replacing my caviar flap bag for a lambskin. Thank You for this video.

Is it new lamb or vintage lamb? I find that the new lamb can be a bit more hit and Miss but still so beautiful 😍

I too love the look of the lambskin over the caviar and worried about the durability although I haven’t made my first purchase of a Chanel bag ( hopefully in the near future). I just saw a video of a lady who was disappointed with her new grey lambskin which she said she was always very careful and barely used it but got it damaged. So I think your video has given me the confidence to go for the lambskin. Thanks

I also prefer lambskin. I had a caviar jumbo and felt it looked like plastic so I sold it and got a lambskin. It’s soooo much prettier! I also have a vintage lambskin mini and it’s in great condition (and like you I wear a lot of denim). It really is the prettiest leather!

💯%. I’m team lambskin! My jumbo is lambskin. I dont use it too often because I have a lot of bags. I use my distressed calfskin reissue more as it is a more casual looking bag which I love, but the lambskin is so luxurious! The caviar looks like plastic to me. Never even considered caviar. I also have a vintage lambskin mini and it is still gorgeous! No scuffs and feels very durable! I think I will be choosing the trendy over the coco handle for my Chanel top handle bag and one reason is because it comes in lambskin. Loved your perspective on this. Totally with you!

I have a WOC in lambskin, reissue in aged calfskin, and medium and jumbo in caviar. All have held up well! I like both and depends on the need. If it’s going to be used more I still pick caviar

Hi! I can but honestly if a lambskin bag is in need of some real TLC (not just some basic conditioning) I send it off to leather surgeons for a spa treatment.

So I somehow don’t have any Chanel SLGs (I have bought them for others but never myself 🙈). When I have bought for others I buy caviar just because of the wear a piece gets jostle in a bag wot other items. If you are really good with an organizer I bet lambskin would be fine ! I just tend to throw everything into a bag 😊

So in general I use Cadillac leather conditioner and cleaner. For my lambskin Chanel I did buy the cleaning kit from loving my bags that is just for lambskin.

I haven’t bought a new lamb classic flap in a long time! So I am not sure 🤔 but in general classic flaps are stiffer bags

I heard that the quality decreased over time so thats why ppl are more willing to go to caviar.

Chanel quality in general has gone down but I find that it has impacted both type of leather equally. I still prefer lambskin but that’s because I prefer the luxurious feel of it. And caviar can be very plasticy to me. Thank you for watching 😊

I bought the classic flap in black caviar and i saw a few in lamb and they were all scratched it was annoying because none of those bags left the store lol

I would make sure to immediately dry it off by dabbing at it with a white cloth. But other than that there is not much you can do. I preemptively spray all my bags with apple gard which really helps if they accidentally encounter some rain

How can you protect your beige one from color transfer?

I do two things! 1- spray the bag with a protection spray like applegard or colonil spray. 2- I spray dark colored clothing with a scotchgard color lock spray. I hope that helps 😊

In the long run i guess lambskin age really beautifully. I like caviar as well But sometimes caviar looks plastic sometimes doesnt.... also the colors look different on lambskin compared To caviar leather. anyway great Video❤️❤️

No one can debate the beauty of lamb skin. It’s stunning but no way would I own one. My girlfriend got hers wet. Awful. Also watch the corners of those bags. If you wear it everyday forget it. Most people in lux rotate their bags so I guess it can be ok for some.

It is beautiful! Getting any bag wet isn’t a good idea. I have even seen LV damier ebene bags with the treated leather have puckering and marks for water. And I do rotate my bags so I don’t have corner wear issues but also I do expect corner wear in bags I wear a lot regardless of material! Thanks for watching 😊
