    Yes, they are so good at showing their confidence once they're no longer afraid. Our Mango is a little over 1 year old and loves bonking with his beak, fighting with his toys, and showing off his wings. I think that's 50% of his daytime activities and it's so cute to see him with his own little character.

    100% agree! Cockatiels are my favourite birds. My favourite things about them are their different personalities, how cheeky and funny they are, how crazy smart they are… basically everything about them lol 😊

    I love when they're relaxed and they puff their tiny cheek feathers up - they look like some old bearded general in a portrait from the American Civil War 😂

    We originally wanted a cockatiel but fell in love with our GC's personality at the store. I think cockatiels are definitely one of the prettiest parrots. I watch my friend's cockatiel Bert every few months, and hes adorable but much more calm than our Kiwi. Kiwi is an endless ball of energy and Bert is content to just sit on my shoulder for hours. Wish I could have one of each!!

    Both species have their own cute traits and that varies even more when it comes to individuals too! Kiwi sounds like a fun birdie!

    I love all those things, plus the heart wings and the way the scuttle sideways when they climb on your arm. Also love the way they bow and turn their heads from side to side when getting scritched.

    I have two green cheeks but have had cockatiels in the past. I love all of the things you mentioned. I had a beautiful pearl and a lutino. They were great talkers and whistlers. I would get more but my green cheeks rule the roost at the moment! 😊

    totally agree, Cockatiels are amazing! Of course I'm a little bit biased, I have two females and they are the sweetest and friendliest birds ever. The faces and crests are so expressive, they have their really silly moments, so funny and they are eager to learn new stuff. They surprise me with adapting new tricks to different situations, its really a shame to think that birds or small birds in particular are stupid! That's one of the saddest myth. They are very sensitive to my feelings/ mood, I never expected that, and sometimes they just behave like demanding toddlers. I like their different personalities. And flying cockatiels are such a beautiful thing to see!

    I always find that myth funny too! Anyone who works with them knows it’s not true! It is interesting how they can adapt to moods too! Agree!

    I just got a pair of cinnamon green cheek conures, male and female. Both from the aviary. Is it harder to tame them as a pair than to train them individually?

  • @TheParrotTeacher

    @TheParrotTeacher

    I actually filmed a video on this recently but not sure when it’s going up! Taming should be fine with both just ensure to put in the reinforcement and take your time! Training may be a little trickier but you’ll have the advantage that one will observe the other and learn from it!
