I’m taming all 3 of my budgies together right now. It’s taking a bit, but definitely faster than it was taking with just the one I had. She was very timid, but having friends is helping her and the others.

These online instructional videos are pure bullshit the people that are showing this probably had birds since childhood and have had over hundreds of birds. I believe the birds you show the birds that you hand raised and are NOT like any bird that a regular person would buy from a pet store. Let me see how you train a traumatize bird from a pet store. That would be worth watching!! Teach us something so many are struggling to train. HOW CAN I FIND A HOME / HAND RAISED BIRD. IT Would be helpful if OWNERS posted a people who raise birds in the areas and can help train them. There’s gonna be another bird flying in the sky.

The techniques are the same, even if you need to regain their trust. If they have become afraid of hands, gently place your hand in the cage for a few minutes every day. It may take a little longer than with a ‘fresh’ bird, but it still works. I hope you earn back your bird’s trust soon 😊

This is such a CLEAR & EASILY UNDERSTOOD video. So many Budgie “teachers” Online get so complex & wordy. This Step-By-Step description AND so many good video clips reinforce the steps. Excellent Teaching!!! 👍🏻
My budgie was an adult budgie used this channels tips and after 3 days 3DAYS she got tamed she's so cute and calm I love it ❤️ Buy what was most surprising is that I didn't reward it with millet cuz it won't eat It from my hand but she's follow my instructions!✨
When I first got my budgies, I was very impatient, so I stuck my finger in the cage 2x a day once in the morning, and in the afternoon, it gained more trust, but still took a month for the budgie to get on my finger
My journey of training my 1 year old budgie ❤️ 1st day: I tried feeding him with my hand but he freaked out and was flying the whole time 😂 2nd day: I friend to feed him a seed but then u just bit my hand it got so red 🙃 3rd day : he gained some trust I putted my finger in front of him and he was scared at first but he started walking toward me slowly then he putted his hand on my finger but then went on his seat again 😭 4th: dayhe stepped on my hand and I roamed around the house with him on my shoulder 🥺🐥 My budgie did not have any problem I used the food method it worked :] Thankyou so much this vid helped a lot I always take him out of the cage when I am alone in the house because my brother I small and he freaks my budgie out while I do it alone or with my mother :]

?How is your bird now
@ Salvador Budgie - Thank you so much for your helpful videos! It's much appreciated! I've ad my budgie for around 11 weeks now. He was pretty young when I got him. Although, we've made progress in that he trusts me inside of his cage and he will step up, etc. "IF" he's in the mood to cooperate. The problem is with getting him to come OUT of his cage. He will not come out on his own or with me trying to take him out. He's very afraid of the "outside" world, sigh. His wings were clipped by the pet shop, so that probably isn't helping him any with his fear. I've done all of the obvious stuff like attaching a bungi rope perch across the front of his cage even with a ladder that goes up to the top of the cage which has a play gym. The ONLY time he'll ever come outside of his cage is if he falls out while he's wildly flapping his wings. Then, he is desperate to return to the cage after that. I'm at a loss on what to do. I feel so bad for him to be in his cage so much. Any suggestions from anyone would be most appreciated. I want him to have a great life. He's a timid little guy so far, sigh, and super moody. He actually turns his back to me quite a bit. I keep his cage near where for a lot of the day so it's not me he's afraid of. I never imagined it would take this long to get him comfy with interacting and playing, etc.

I also struggled with this, but my cage is like in a house bc my budgie is new and its shaped like a house (the cage) so it has little like clips, not really but its metal so it bends and u could take it off (if you have it) and your budgie can fly right out! Im sorry this might not be so helpful but thats all i know bc i am a begginer with having a pet budgie, but i have got other pets in the past now i have a cat, and a bird. Again ifk how much this is rlly helpful but this is all i learned from when i started. Have a great day!!
We found our budgie on a 7-11trash can. He was in rough shape. I set my hand down on the can and he walked into my hand and nestled down! 7-11 Trash Bird sat in my hand the half mile walk home. Open hand the whole time. We never expected a lil'birb but we love him to death! ❤
u explained the whole thing in such few words I am really grateful to u

I have four baby Budgies that my own birds gave birth to. I just kept these four out of 14 babies. They automatically go in the cage at bedtime for some reason. It’s like they know when it gets dark out it’s sleep time. Two are are hand fed and completely tamed, and two are a work in progress. The hand fed are from one set and parents and the other two are from a different set of parents. I didn’t have the time to work with all four at once. But I’m getting there. Thanks for the great tips. ❤️❤️❤️

This is really helpful! My brother got budgies recently, but doesn’t give them much attention. Now I’m aware about what I was doing wrong to give them that attention and what to do instead.
Best bird guide on youtube!
I got my little guys from a pet store, they came with tags on their feet which was clearly bothering them. I held them one by one, but because the band around their foot was made of a small metal, it took me a while to get it off, which mean i held them without letting go even though they were freaking out. I noticed i lost their trust I’ve built with them and its been a challenge gaining it back. Hopefully your tips will help me regain their trust back. THANK YOU!!!

Thanks!! One thing is not true, as a person who owns 3 budgies, no you can of course tame more than 1..you should never house it alone.. It really works i can tell.. And you can of course let it free fly if it isn't tame because they need it too.. They will return on their own to their cage for food etc so no chasing👍👍but i like your tricks, very good 👍

I agree. My first budgie was mean and seemed really irritated. At first, I figured it was because she had such a small cage(18x18 in.). Thankfully, that HUGE issue was fixed when I was given a much bigger cage on Christmas. However, I also thought it was because she was lonely, so I got another bird. Then, I began to have a great bond with Blue, I even made a step up dance and a song to go with it, she cooperated every time! I had both a trusting bond with Lue and Blue, and all of the problems before were only because of her being lonely. It's a great idea to house more than 1 bird together. Thanks to this, I could take some comfort in knowing that they had a happy life when they died.. R.I.P Blue and Lue.

Very comprehensive video. Thanks for encouraging me to work with them more You mentioned it's best to work with one budgie at a time. I have two that share a cage. I have a separate cage but they hate being apart. Would you isolate the budgies by putting them in separate cages during training? Thanks!

Hi to those who are asking about Twister. He is doing really well. Chirps and sings away happily and responds to my voice and has begun to imitate the sound of kisses which I greet him with every morning. Eats loose seeds out of my palm as opposed to holding the long millet stem and he gets a belly rub few times a day. Was a bit skittish for a while when I attempted to touch him but enjoys it now and is a morning and nighttime ritual Currently in process of getting him to step up on my finger which hopefully shouldn’t be too long. He has sat on my finger already but I’m not really counting that as a proper step up. Talking to him and singing and whistling has helped us bond more to the point where when I come into the room, he gets visibly excited and happy to see me. Same with my little girl, eats seeds from her hand and allows a gentle belly rub from her. All in all, a very positive experience. In order for trust to be formed, you really need to put the time in to gain that trust. Literally just chilling with your bird every day, gentling talking and whistling or singing and the bond will grow more and more. An enjoying process and one which I will continually work on!

Hello! I’ve had budgies for about a year now and the best way to train them is to get a cheap, tiny cage with the purpose of training and cleanup. The cage comes in handy during cleaning because there’s no birds inside the other cage, freaking out because there’s two big human hands in the bottom of the cage messing with things. Sadly the first or second time you clean things they may not be fully accustomed to your hand so you’ll have to grab them to transport them between the cages. I don’t ever grab my budgies except to move or collect them when they’re not trained. After they reliably step onto your hand, then always just transport them by doing the step up method!

I caught mine outside Queen of All Saints Oct. 8. She was by the St. Francis statue but flew each time anyone tried to catch her. It was turning COLD in Chicago, raining and windy and the 5th day we were worried when we didn't see her. It had been in the 30s the night before... but then the girl I was hunting her with saw her! I was in my car already! We ran over then cautiously approached - she was tired we could tell. Flying up to the lowest nearby tree branch, she was slow. Poor baby! When she fluttered down to get the millet spray we quickly threw a large, very light weight mesh curtain from Ikea (Lill) over her and YAY!!! I held her in the mesh in my hand to warm her quickly. She became feisty and bit my fingers (so cute!) but we put her in a box with water and a millet treat and towel to transport her to my house. I got her a cage, sent her pic to a rescue guy, Richard, in Chicago. He said she was a female so I named my bright yellow budgie 'Dandy Lion" - she's yellow, she just one day popped up in the grass, she flies in the wind - and she is INTREPID! The heart of a true lioness... It's been less than 24 hours so she's not out of the woods but she just started tweeting a minute ago! She goes a little less banana than she did this morning when I approach her so that's good. She's listening to the radio and I lined the bottom with tabloid pages so she can catch up on Hollywood gossip 😆 I love her ❤️ Thank you for posting this valuable lesson-filled video! XO

Okay im seriously inlove with your video's and i still need more advices- Cleaning bird poops? Do they just poop on us often? Or is it possible to tame them to not poop on us-
So i’m deciding to get a budgie in 8 months when we move into a house so i’m taking some stuff about budgies before getting one also thanks! This was really useful ^^
I have been training my budgie from the day we bought it, it's the most trained one I bought! it's also the most long living one of what I bought! accidentel fly away 1.fly to near myhouse 2.landed on my grandma's bed! 3.wandering around the house

I have a parakeet who's been aggressive since the day I got him. All of my other parakeets are friendly. Anyway, the parekeet I'm talking about- He bites, and he bites hard. Unfortunately, he is clever and learned how to open his cage. So we had to modify his cage so that he couldn't open it the same way anymore, we had to chase him around and put a soft towl on top of him so we could grab him without getting bitten. He'd bite the towel as if his life depended on it. But I don't get it, I think he was abused by whatever company bred him cause ther is NO reason he should be THAT aggressive from day one. Any advise for taming a budgie that far gone or is he a lost cause?

Make sure he is gettimg enough sleep because budgies that don't get enough will also be aggressive
Thank you. For your Demo.
Thank you! It actually work
Please dont push on its chest! The only reason the bird is stepping up pn your finger is cuz they dont wanna fell.Instead, put the millet in front of your hand and the bird will have to step up to eat the millet. And just dont enter your hand in the birds cage beacuse its their safe territory.
