Yes , I agree with all your points. I finally decided to invest in a dishwasher because I got fed up of the number of times I had to do the dishes, a chore which I don't like at all. Also, my palms were parched and ruined by the frequent contact with dishwashing bars and water. It certainly frees up a lot of time for me .

Same here! Post lockdown this and a robot vacuum cleaner were my first purchases.

Finally ordered a dishwasher on 25th December for my mother. Zeroed in on a Godrej EON 13 place setting DWF EON VES 13Z SI STSL. Fortunately a 4,500 cashback offer was running on the product at that time. So got a handsome discount on that. I watched all videos by Saumya and they were really helpful to get a pre shopping information for dishwasher.

Well covered👍👍... i finally got one a few days back.. and i am glad i decided to. No more stinky sink from previous days vessels and waiting for maid. My only regret is that i should have bought last year just when lockdowns eased. Def way better than hand cleaning. My only concern is the hard water. Hope it lasts 10yrs with proper maintaimance. I would consider that value for money.

Hi Arathi! Yay, I was so excited when I got mine right after lockdown last year. Typical life should be over 7 years - but yes, 10 would be ideal :)

It really depends on the brand of dishwasher. My 1st dishwasher was a GE which lasted 4 years. My 2nd was a Fisher & Paykel which lasted 6 years. My 3rd was a Bosch which lasted 12 years. My 4th and current dishwasher is a Miele which is about 5 1/2 years old and still running great. I heard that Miele appliances can last for about 20 years on average.

Hi Saumya.. i need one information.. if one goes for travel and had to leave dishwahser unused for 2 weeks or so.. if there any special prep one should do as i checked on internet n it says if left unused for long Dishwahser seals n motor can dry n cause leaks. Could you please help if you left dishwasher unused n did any special arrangements for it to be safe n sound. Thanks in advance.

Hi Nandu - yes for hard water. You will need to use dishwasher salt and it has an inbuilt softener. For the water pressure, best to check with the installation expert.

Hi Sakshi! Ideally in kitchen, but most Indian kitchens don't have that provision yet. So I have kept mine too in the utility. It is a bit more inconvenient, but gets the job done. May I know which brand/model you use... Im using Bosch basic one purchased 4yrs back... I had to scrub every dishes even tea cups & load to come out clean... But seeing youtubers loading the dishes as it is & resulting in clean dishes confusing me.. even if i use finish products still the same...

Hi Jamuna, I’m using a Faber dishwasher. These days most dishwashers don’t need prerinsing. You can also try some of the newer tablets - which claim prerinsing is not required.

We recently purchased a dishwasher. The dishes look sparkling clean but on touching I feel a slimy layer on all dishes. Using ifb detergent+salt+rinseaid right now. Could you please guide?

Hi Pradnya, that could be due to the rinse aid setting. You may want to reduce the rinse aid level. If that does not work, try changing your detergent. Sometimes it takes a while to get the combination right :) I use the FInish products, but I know lots of users have good success with Fortune detergent too.

I hate it the most as well. Since i have to take an exam i hate it more. But i have heard it is not good for plastics, glass, aluminium as well as nonstick pots, that really discouraged me to buy😞

Hi Shalini, thank you 😊 since I’m very happy with Faber, I may still go with that today. Alternative options to consider are - Voltas or Bosch in 14 or 15 place settings. if you are looking for a tried and tested brand irrespective of price - go with Bosch!

Very good review. Some more benefits of using Dishwasher. (1) accidently glass utensils get broken by maids. Dishwasher ensures zero breakage. (2) your spoons and small utensils are not stolen. (3) By using Eco mode, you spend hardly Rs. 450/- per month (inclusive of cost of Salt, Detergent, Rinse Aid and electricity) . It is cheaper than a maid.(4) short cycles of 30 to 40 minutes get you absolutely clean utensils. In urgent need, no maid can be called at such a short notice.(5) you get dry utensils at the end of a cycle. you are not required to wipe the utensils with a cloth. (6) You can wash Chimney filters in dishwasher. (7) utensils, kept for long can be washed in cold water or hot water in short cycles of 18 minutes or 60 minutes. hot steaming plates in the time of corona are a blessing, specially if some close friends or relatives have been invited.

Approximately Rs 300- Rs 400. Intensive mode requires 1.5-2Kwh per cycle

@@mishisingh3746 LG consumes least electricity. It will use 1.44 units. If you operate a modern dishwasher like LG or Faber, the average monthly expenses on electricity would be around 250/-. per month.
